And the same goes for Masi, you DO NOT KNOW what really happened and never will, he made mistakes yes, but was this just him or other influences, was he made a scapegoat? He deserved to go for what happened but to hang it ALL on him is grossly unfair as you do not know the truth.
There are just two scenarios re Abu Dhabi.1. It was just Masi making (another) mistake, in which case he is incompetent and deserved to be sacked, but then why the NDA and a severance paycheque….
2. He was told to do it by Liberty, FIA etc but then he had a choice and to knowingly carry out orders which were not in accordance with the regulations makes him an even bigger ahole…. This makes the NDA and severance pay less surprising.
Or lots of other options of course.
The fact he has been sacked says much about what happened at AD and rubber stamps the asterix for many I’m sure.

The fact that he also precided over the farce at Spa, when it was far from 'a race'; and directly or indirectly facilitated several steward interpretations that were very much to MVs benefit (who cares about making it round a corner if you can ensure your opponent doesn't get ahead... Brazil) make it a very tainted championship. MV was gifted the title, whether others beyond Masi played a part in that is almost irrelevant, he was there to direct the race according to the rules, he didn't.

Except that's not really how it works alot of the time. If someone makes a mistake(s) at work often the empoyer does not want a potential court case that may come from a sacking so both sides agree a "compromise agreement". The employee gets a payout, agrees no future legal action and has to sign an NDA.1. It was just Masi making (another) mistake, in which case he is incompetent and deserved to be sacked, but then why the NDA and a severance paycheque….
This is quite standard in most industries for Manager level and above.

The FIA can’t have Masi going around saying he made mistakes and this was wrong and that was wrong for the simple reason that it will cast more official doubt on last year’s title. Now, we may think that is justice, but from an FIA perspective that’s a nightmare, hence the NDA, paying him off and burying it. The FIA just want to forget about 2021 and move on.
Never get a job again eh?
