Not really seeing what is wrong with talking about someone who willfully admits a passing interest in a sport and then proceeds to mention he is going to the most expensive race in the world!
Read the post, not the username and also try to read it all, not just the bits you hate, that is easy, and defeats the object of a forum!

I don't know what's wrong with you. You're obsessed with trying to convince everyone that they're fools to part with their money when they're obviously fired up and excited about what they're paying for... On a forum, or in a pub, or any other setting... It's just plain weird behaviour.

Best place to get tickets is direct from the Automobile Club de Monaco website when they go on sale in November.
Official website at https://acm.mc/en/homepage/
Don’t buy from anyone else, unless you’re looking for a full tour package with flights and accommodation.
(That applies to every race to be fair, always buy from the circuit directly for the best value).
I am merely interested as to what it is that excites people to spend quite large amounts of money on this, and I rarely get an answer just the same tired old people calling me boring, miserable etc etc. Yawn, water off a ducks back. Couldnt give a toss what you think.
I sometimes get atmosphere, I can see that, but I would think you get the same at any sporting event, concert etc.
I also find it fascinating that a rather loosely put together show on Netflix piques interest to a point where people who drifted away come back and are happy to pay fairly serious money on race tickets, almost as if it would not matter what it costs. Yet when they get there they get zero access compared to what the tv show depicts.
I know tv is powerful, but that is quite a leap.
Nothing sinister, but does it not come across to anyone else as odd that venues could pretty much charge what they want and people will happily pay it, in the current economic climate?

I have been twice to the Monaco Historic. This is the view from grandstand K2, Tabac (or Quai Albert I think they may call it). As near to the top as possible is favoured.
That's broadly where I was sat in 2014, between Tabac and the Swimming Pool.Did a package day-trip on race day. Flight from Stansted, transfer from Nice to the circuit, watched the race, went for a pizza, transfer back to Nice then back home at end of the day.
I was surprised there were so many tickets still available and only at 30 Euros but I was looking at Thursday https://www.formula1monaco.com/.
Shame the cars were quiet but great to be so close to the them.
If you go along to Monaco just for the Grand Prix you’re missing other events being put on. I normally find the time to go to the various classic car auctions and some of the art galleries holding events. Some of the hotels hold events as well.
Likewise there are events being put on along the coast or inland so if you have transport there’s lots to see.
