Stroll (+ associates) and the Saudis control Aston (whatever they are now) PLC.
Stroll is not the ultimate beneficial owner of the F1 team.
Stroll would have done a deal similar to what he did at Williams, he will rent the space on the body work and sell it on.. part of that is a drive for Lance.
Stroll can bring in the Aston name, the Saudis (Aramco), as well as own brands & long term partners.
Stroll has been involved in F1 sponsorship for 30+ years.

Company name changed in September this year to AMR GP Holdings Ltd.
Lawrence Stroll exercises significant control but has less than 25% of the shares. At least 75% of the shares are held by one individual (no name necessary for this).
Silas Chou is the second director but does not have any significant control or shares.
I believe Aston Martin are the principal sponsors, but not owners in any way.
Lawrence, as a director of AM, arranges the company sponsorship.
