It was 29 with Red Bull.

1st - 5
2nd - 14
3rd - 10
What's that, about 10% of Verstappen's?

Perez was always a fairly mediocre performer on a Sunday but, like everyone else who's been there, on a hiding to nothing as the car inevitably develops during the season towards Verstappen.

Nice that he acknowledged the catering department in his leaving message. They don't get enough credit.
Always thank the caterers, especially Red Bull ones who have a big budget, bigger than they should some years mind wink

I like the way they always phrase it. "Mutual decision"

I bet it was. Must have been an impressive final invoice assuming he's not PAYE.

All the discussion of their junior drivers, but Perez being in the team in the first place was pretty symptomatic of the mess bed bull ended up in with their drivers.
Ricciardo leaves, they hot potato albon and gasly for a couple seasons, spit them both out and then of all the drivers they have in development they go for... an out of contract racing point driver.
It's a brave driver, or one with a short memory who signs up for that second seat IMO.

Still hard to turn down a massive payday and a high chance of wins or podiums though, plus the chances of Max leaving in the next few years aren't exactly zero.

RBR lawyers mutually agreed they'd found a mostly affordable way of ejecting him... At last...

I'm glad he's left - but he seemed a nice guy under a bucketful of pressure. I hope he enjoys his next phase of racing/retirement.

"It's been an absolute pleasure driving alongside you," Verstappen posted on social media.

Haha, alongside??? Surely some mistake.

I find it a little odd that they’ve not announced his replacement at the same time.

I mean, they’ve said it’s either Lawson or Tsunoda. They surely must know which, why not announce it all now? Milking the story?

Just watched the P1 with Matt and Tommy reaction, I'd agree with them that they're not announcing the replacement yet to give Perez some time to wave goodbye.

Red Bull being respectful shocker! hehe

Horner says it was Perez's own decision to step down and take a sabbatical. Hilarious.
