That could have been an extremely nasty one - the 2 cars following Doohan did very well to miss him.

Red flag.
Marshals had a lucky escape with Martins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rNFDW4VxqA
They really did and his punishment was appropriate and correct. When I put that post up I hadn't realised he'd passed double waved yellows.

He passed an SC light, 3 SC boards, and at least 3 sets of double waved yellows.

Should have been a black flag and DQ.

He passed at least three SC boards, two sets of double-yellow flags, and marshals pointing to the right. Correct punishment.

Those first two cars that passed close by can be forgiven, they had no time to react.

Martins can’t be, he should have been prepared to stop. Good to see the stewards take a firm line with dangerous driving, he missed the fire marshal by inches at high speed.

Drivers, marshals, and spectators, have all been killed by flying fire extinguishers over the years.

The rolling start? Not altogether unexpected in the rain, we’ve all seen first lap carnage before.

Track drying quickly now though, might someone risk the slicks with a handful of laps left? Still 20s/lap off the dry pace at the moment though.

Back markers taking the gamble, and they’re faster. But are they fast enough to get points?

Ooh, safety car. Don’t want to be on the wets now.

Amazing to see so many pitting when it could just as easily have been a red flag?

Suddenly feeling fairly old realising that Sebastián Montoya is the son of Juan Pablo who was racing when I was first watching F1.

Marti quite a popular winner there, judging by how full of Spaniards the stands are at 10:30 in the morning!

F2 feature is coming to quite the finish, as the different tyre strategies play out.

As always with Alex Jacques, everyone and everything is “Roarring”… must be hard to commentate when you have only one adjective in your vocabulary.

I've never seen a crowd so excited for a support race win! Great scenes to see that these juniors have good support already.

This is about to be fun. Half the grid on slicks, and half the grid on wets.

So the wets were the right tyre at the start, but after a couple SC of laps they’re all pitting for slicks!

Can we have drizzle for the F1 later please?

I think Bernie was on to something with his random sprinklers idea.

That was totally bonkers for a few laps, as it was too dry for wets but the slicks didn’t want to warm up.
