It's a shame these threads get so toxic so quickly, with the two sides taking cheap shots at whoever is the rival of their driver or team. There is some good content in these threads beneath the petty bickering. It's a shame you have to scroll through it all, rather than just being able to filter certain posters childish nonsense out (both sides!). The worse bit is that I reckon most must be over 30 on here.
I get why people respond and take the bait because it is hard to not call out obvious BS, for being BS. I wonder if it was just ignored they'd get bored. Sadly, I think not.

There are always people moaning about people moaning too. We could reduce the moaning by a considerable margin if people just ignore it. Sadly I think they won't.I get why people respond and take the bait because it is hard to not call out obvious BS, for being BS. I wonder if it was just ignored they'd get bored. Sadly, I think not.

The same people do it on every thread, it's genuinely pathetic, they really ruin these forums. I get why people respond and take the bait because it is hard to not call out obvious BS, for being BS. I wonder if it was just ignored they'd get bored. Sadly, I think not.

But my post isn't meant to rile anyone up, it is just a gentle reminder that its a little tedious for normal members. Go look and see if I have bitten in the past, you won't find much, if anything. There are probably other people that are not interested in the BS windup comments, but come for well reasoned discussion on a hobby or sport that interests them. If I want pointless arguments, I can have those with my toddler on most days. Back on topic, Max to make it back to P2 / P3 if he avoids and first lap drama. Will be good to see him carving through along with Charles and who is the most decisive in the overtakes. Surely it must be Checos to lose.

So, I just finished the Villeneuve - Pironi documentary
I still think son Jacques Villeneuve is a dick but I'm now slightly more understanding and forgiving; dude has legit dad issues.
(Apologies for the Off Topic)
I give anyone who lost a parent in childhood a 'free pass', no judgement. Its the most devastating thing a child can experience imo, from the PoV of someone who luckily hasn't. Might be nauseating for some but reading Harry's autobiography really gives you an idea of how all encompassing and life defining it can be. Very sad. Haha just me then!
Just seen the merc post quali interviews, George does interview well. Lewis acting a bit off I'd say, said that was the best he could do. Sure he'll bounce back tomorrow
Dunc.

It’s not enough for your preferred driver to do well, his rival (or your least preferred driver) must suffer some form of ill fate also. Only then will some people be happy.
Some people, perhaps, but I would say they were in the minority. My experience is that most F1 fans, even those who express a preference, just want to see good (decent, fair, non-cheating) racing.
(For the avoidance of doubt, I am not making any accusations on the 2023 season; Max / Red Bull clearly nave no need to cheat this season. Fair play to them for designing an awesome car. And Max can certainly drive it)

Will Perez get far enough ahead as Max is coming through the field ? That probably the only thing needing working out tomorrow.
My prediction is that Perez will compfortably stay ahead of the field and in the lead, Max will work his way up into P2, and then Perez will either a) let him past or b) something will happen to gift Max P1I dunno why the teams even bother with (b) these days, given that Team Orders are no longer illegal.
Used to amuse me no end the obvious Team Orders when they were ostensibly banned.
"Fernando is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?".
