JSF... get over it and return
Discussion
I know you took a double whammy the last couple of seasons due to the sport being bulls
t and also the chatter on here mostly arguing with you about that BS...
But I'd be amazed if you're not lurking and despite the BS, you have knowledge and insight that's worth sharing.
I for one am missing you're rude, short, sharp and informative musings.
Return you miserable old b
d, you're missed!

Don’t miss his rude, arrogant and condescending posts in the slightest.
I’m pretty much in this camp. I find the F1 threads the most tribal and downright unpleasant of any on PH.PigInAPoke does a fantastic job of starting them off with a huge amount of really useful data, and every single time they disintegrate into something horrible, overlaid with JSF’s haughty proclamations.
I understand I’m a minority in not being a fan of one driver that is popular to many, but I’d still like to be able to have a debate and discuss the race (before, during and after) without the bile that always gets sprayed around.

JSF's posts sometimes contained good information, but it got to the stage where I just ignored them. A statement, normally critical of us lesser beings, isn't a conversation or discussion.
I'm very much with Derek. Even down to being a bit of a fan of the Papaya cars.
However, like rugby, opposing fans shouldn't need to be segregated and can enjoy a beer or two before after and during the match. Unfortunately PiP threads are more akin to a football match. Which is a great shame because they start off as a work of art and are much appreciated. I don't really venture in to them any more. If you say Max had a blinder, you're immediately a RB fan boy and a Hamilton hater. That isn't the case. We (in this thread at least) have probably been watching F1 for decades and between us centuries. We have a bit more about us I'd like to think.

He at least appeared to have actual knowledge of events. A pity he is gone.
Whilst I agree about his caustic nature, the point about knowledge is what gave him a pass imo. Lot's of posters on here are caustic, stubbornly opinionated... quite a few are outright trolling. But knowledge at the level JSF had to offer (and occasionally could be bothered to share), is hard to replace. Also the reason for banning, so far as I can work out, just doesn't make sense. What he stated (unless I've missed something that was removed before I saw it), was a matter of plain fact and already in the public sphere of knowledge

Bit of a rugby fan myself, so you are more with me than you thought. However, like rugby, opposing fans shouldn't need to be segregated and can enjoy a beer or two before after and during the match. The most memorable, and enjoyable rugby experiences I've have was when leaving Wales/England matches, packed into a train, with the Welsh choirs giving full voice. One chap, almost under my armpit, stopped singing once, and I said, 'You know you lost to us, don't you?' and he said, 'Yes, but that run from our 22m to yours was an event we'll remember for years.' Superb. Who could begrudge him his little victory?
More recently at a club league match, the away-side chair, well Welsh, gave a speech in which he, like the Welsh 6N team the weekend before, demolished England. After the speeches, I went over to him, thanked him for his input to rugby's knowledge base, and said how pleased I was that his team had won. 'It's good to see emerging nations coming through,' I said. He laughed and then bought me a drink.
That's what I want from fans in F1. You still get it at races, so why not on forums? We're F1 fans first. Let's play nicely.

There's plenty of folk left to put their views across.
Lots of us have views based upon watching F1. He appeared to have worked in the teams and in various aspects of motorsport, having actual knowledge of the events and issues to base an opinion on... A valuable insight IMHO.Piginapoke said:
Life goes on; we’ve plenty more opinionated, patronising posters to fill the gap left by JSF.
The problem is, you're one of themPiginapoke said:
Fortunately we also have some excellent contributors too, otherwise I wouldn’t do it.
Frankly, you're not one of themJSF contributed 1000 more than most of the posters on this thread but as is usual with those who really know what they are talking about it pissed off those who only thought they did. See Breadvan, Equus, ATGLaw & a few others. Atfer a while it becomes tedious dealing with idiots every day.
