If Oli Bearman is sitting out his pole do they get to use a reserve driver instead ? Or
Does F2 not allow stand in drivers
I don't believe F2 travels with backup drivers. Happy to be proved wrong though.
Same rule as F1, you can’t substitute a driver after qualifying, they have to have taken part in a practice session before the race.
That's interesting - and obviously makes sense - would they have had a standby if things had happened sooner?

It’s apparently in the F2 regulations that a driver can’t compete in more than one series at the same event.

Interesting question, given that the F2 drivers are paying for their drives. Perhaps at a European race with F3 in attendance, an agreement could be made to replace a driver who was absent on Friday morning.

F2 are in Melbourne in a fortnight, if Sainz is still unfit and Bearman in the Ferrari, I’m sure there will be a replacement for him in F2.

Hauger should get done for that, he cut the chicane and gained an advantage that he took at the end of the lap.

Twice this weekend that Lia Block got caught up in someone else’s accident.

That's really unfortunate. There seem to be quite a few accidents coming down to getting the braking distance wrong - I wonder if they could adapt the cars a little as I'm wondering if they've got the strength to fully utilise the braking capabilities?

Unfortunate with Chambers and Lovinfosse, have to wonder if that would have happened if Chambers had given the place back she gained off the road. Nothing Block could really to avoid hitting Lovinfosse

Well there’s only two ladies in this championship at the moment. Doriane and Abbi.

Whoops, did the winner not see the the chequered flag?

Seemingly not, which isn’t great! But also poor comms from the team too in that nobody seemed to appreciate or understand Doriane was still going flat.

Ah bless - my heart sank when I saw the red flag before realising it was for the craziest of reasons and no accidents involved! I hope the team has a word with her though as she was way too fast once the red flags were out - red flag is meant to be VERY slow. Well done to her though - a dominant weekend.

Maybe they’ll penalise her, to give the others a chance.
Entertaining to watch but commentary team not the best.

I suspect the team are going to get a bking from the stewards for that, they should have told her the race was over.

I hope there’s enough fuel in the car for a scrutineering sample, a couple of safety cars should make it okay.

Yep, we all know there’s a responsibility on the driver to know where and at what point they are in the race.

But a team like Prema with all their experience you’d think they’d have standard race end lap procedure's in terms of driver comms, cool down etc. Not good that they didn’t confirm to her.

Expect they’ll discuss that after this. Be rubbish if Doriane loses out on a win due to this.

Yes unlucky x2.

Big step up for her from rally-cross, and only 16.
Apparently she has a lot of support following of her late father. Introduced and mentored by Jamie Chadwick.

Hopefully she’ll progress through the season.

She looks to have great potential, pretty sure Lia will develop well over the season and get some results.

Yes, the whole point of getting experienced teams to run this series, was to make life easy for the drivers. It looked like everyone in the team was celebrating the win, and no-one noticed the driver was still running around at full pace.

Very chaotic first corner in F2.
