Max isn't expecting to keep no 1 on the car, so he wants to change his 33 to 3. Officially he can't have 3 yet because it was Riccardo's number, but him and Red Bull are talking to the FIA about it.

Number 3 was traditionally used by the Tyrrell F1 team.

The Tyrrell F1 team morphed into the British American Racing (BAR) team, which was then sold to become the Honda team. After Honda's withdrawal, the team was bought by Ross Brawn to become Brawn GP, and was later sold to Mercedes.

Max is going to Mercedes.
Nice sleuthing...

I'm no youngster, however I don't get the Dusty Bin reference, or is it 3-2-1?

Gotta love 80's TV - the prize is an antique grandfather clock presented by a woman in her underwear with a perma-smile covered in sparkles laugh

Simpler times smile

Look at the fashion, it's in the 70's, episode number 2 of the show, 5th August 1978.

Best 1970's TV name on that show, Gail Playfair. biggrin

Even got to be lyrics on vinyl. A UK Saxon reggae DJ/MC voiced the lyrics, "On 3-2-1 you have Dusty Bin, Richard O'Sullivan ah Dick Turpin...etc"

That is very easy to believe. I assume the budget allowed for one car per season.

If I remember correctly, even the secondary prizes were worth far more than any other TV game show of the era.

Maybe he's just a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt?

Not confirmed, Andy Cowell might be out as Aston Martin CEO, (ex Stake and McLaren) Andreas Seidl could be replacing him. https://racingnews365.com/aston-martin-set-to-sack...

I hope not. F1 is more pleasant with him slithering around.

Most rumour sites suggest early to mid 2026 rather than the full year.

Certainly no reason to get rid of Andy Cowell now though.
