Somehow, he pissed Flavio off.

Not sure how, because Franco doesn't seem to be much, if anything, of an improvement.

But Franco carries $$$$$ in sponsorship (which should be less of a consideration nowadays) and that may have saved him.

The Renault/Alpine team has always been run differently to the other manufacturer teams......I still expect it to be sold sooner or later.

He's supposedly off to Super Formula in Japan.

Renault see the bigger picture. They would like to sell a lot of cars across south america. Even if every aussie had a renault that would only be about 12013 cars or something lol.
So collapinto's in. Tbh Doohan was only probably in the car as a favour to his dad from misunderstood hate figure Briatori who was probably being nice.

Another disgraceful situation involving that sleazy prick Flav. Jack was nobbled before turning a wheel this year, utterly appalling treatment, he wasn’t given a fair go.

Colapinto has been lacklustre at best.

Lance Stroll?

I do feel sorry for Doohan, he in no way had a fair go at it. Although my hunch is that he is a bit of a Jolyon Palmer type driver and would have ended up being booted one way or the other.

But that's just speculation, he never got to prove it one way or the other.

Max isn't expecting to keep no 1 on the car, so he wants to change his 33 to 3. Officially he can't have 3 yet because it was Riccardo's number, but him and Red Bull are talking to the FIA about it.

Asked whether #3 would be the preferred option if allowed, the world champion joked: “I actually wanted #69, but my dad said ‘that’s not a good idea’. But that number always looks the same, no matter how you look at the car!

“#69 would be very good for the photos and marketing, and for the caps as well. It doesn’t matter how you wear them, it always stays #69. In that respect it would be a good marketing tool.

“I also like #27, but Nico already has that. I think #2 and #7 look really nice together in terms of shape. So #3 is my favourite number, but there are several numbers I find cool.”
So his favourite number is #3 but he wants #69 or #27.

Surely 96 has the same rotational symmetry? As does 88.

88 has a white supremacist connection.

Regrettably 12, 13, 14, 18, 28, 38, 43, and 83 also appear to be tainted. Looks like we've got two Aston Martin drivers down for white supremacy, and Antonelli is in with the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas, albeit clearly lower ranking as he was only rewarded with fastest lap at Austin.

Number 3 was traditionally used by the Tyrrell F1 team.

The Tyrrell F1 team morphed into the British American Racing (BAR) team, which was then sold to become the Honda team. After Honda's withdrawal, the team was bought by Ross Brawn to become Brawn GP, and was later sold to Mercedes.

Max is going to Mercedes.
