The rumours centre around Oscar not being happy following Monza last year (understandable). If Toto has indeed pie'd off Max is McLaren the only realistic option left for team Verstappen?
Perhaps Oscar calling it a day there has given Max an out?
I can understand Piastri being annoyed about that, but why would that mean he'd want to leave F1..? It's not as if there's another decent team he could move to.Perhaps Oscar calling it a day there has given Max an out?
Alonso is now being outqualified by stroll which means he’s given up and is leaving. Aston may be in dire straights this season but no one expects it to last forever and if they come good, they may have the dream team to be worth heading for.
Then there’s the expected seat at red bull if max has thrown his toys out of the pram (which is likely). They have Hadjar who is doing well but isn’t exactly setting the world on fire yet-he needs time. As does Lindblad, a promotion for him to the big team is far too early.
It’s obvious Tsolov is destined for F1 but he’ll likely need a couple of seasons in Racing Bulls to get to grips, likely at the expense of Lawson who’s shown the world he’s ready for a seat in formula E.
If anything, Red Bull should be the ones desperately trying to find a top tier driver (& I say that as a big fan of Hadjar, Lindblad and Tsolov). If they’ve really signed themselves into such a terrible contract with the Verstappens they are at serious risk of being without a top tier, experienced driver for a couple of years.
All your eggs in one basket really is a risky strategy.

Hey, leave Alonso alone, he won that Lego race fair and square, he's still got it.I expect that Max will leave F1 by the end of this year - he is so pissed off at both the regulations and the lack of consistency of his car this year.
F1 doesn’t have the appeal to keep him - there are just too many pulls (including his young family) to tempt him from something that isn’t going well, and has no signs of getting better for him.

Yup. The problem is that he's clearly in an uncompetitive car and the team itself appears to be waning. So he'll have looked around and it seems (for different reasons) none of the competitive teams want him.F1 doesn t have the appeal to keep him - there are just too many pulls (including his young family) to tempt him from something that isn t going well, and has no signs of getting better for him.

With no knowledge or evidence to back this up, what I'd like like to see is Max really going for it in endurance racing for a couple years ending up in a Hypercar. So how about into the McLaren Hypercar project from which he could step back to F1 with McLaren in the future if they get back on top!
I'm not a huge Max fan but as a Brit living in NL I do take an interest. And to see him at a Brit team would send many of my Dutch mates into a bit of a tailspin. I also think we would see a different Max in a multi-driver per car format (as we have done in his GT3 outings so far).

Red bull already have the best engine and have hired loads of top people. They can fix the spring on the flippy wing and then whats the problem?
The team is 1000% focused on him.
I know a lot of people hide in their bedroom cos mum shouted at them to tidy up,so assume the big F1 stars would just hide from a challenge as well lol.

F1 is now making contingency plans for more Middle East disruption next year. Thanks Donald.

Bahrain is a decent track, if F1 doesn't go to any other track in the middle east it's no great loss. https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/f1-calendar-cha...

If it brings back Sepang, Turkey and Portimao then I’m fine with that (yes Portimao is too narrow but I’d love to go in the early Autumn and make a holiday of it)https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/f1-calendar-cha...

Or they would if the current spec doesn't ruin a lot of older circuits... That is very annoying.

Quite. Let the sport return to other circuits - the newer fans might like them!

Portimao would be a sell out - IF they announce it soon enough. I love that coastline and have stayed in the hotel where MotoGP made their home (in Lagos) for the races there.Or they would if the current spec doesn't ruin a lot of older circuits... That is very annoying.

In many ways the COVID years of F1 provided the best calendar of races in about 20 years!!
Agree - I think the wild global situation, lack of data for some tracks and general "WTF" spiced it up.
I suppose F1 has always relied on drama. It's probably at its best when the drama is external and the sport races to fit in with it.
Re the Summer Break, after watching a YouTube video.
Verstappen: Leaves F1 (Possibly a year out).
Alonso: Retired... wants to do Dakar. (Audi)
Ocon: Out... Replaced by a Rookie (Camara)
Sainz: AM
Cadillac: Want an American driver. (Carlton Herta)
Williams: TBC x1
Red Bull: TBC x1
Racing Bull: x1... if Lawson or Lindblad go to Red Bull.

2027 rule tweaks. Shorter plank at the front, no rear wing tabs or exhaust wings, but they're adding a support below the rear wing that is absolutely going to be a monkey seat mini wing area.
SHORTER PLANK AT THE FRONT... I misinterpreted that.
(Naming no names... cough, cough.)
