In fact we are in florida this weekend.
In fact, we aren't.When I read the Turkish GP was back, my immediate reaction was “great, the return of the magnificent turn eight” (which deserves a proper name).
Then I thought “oh no, software and drivers carefully managing the power for the long drag later in the lap”.
Who knows, maybe by 2027 they we’ll have disguised the shortcomings of the current formula well enough that Turkey will look like the great track I remember.

There is no Dutch GP after this year, and Barcelona will start alternating with Spa, so there are two spots for new European races. Istanbul and Portimao are filling those two spots.
I bet that the drivers & teams would love an additional race.It needs to be an odd number for the final teammates comparison stats... especially quali.

In fact, we aren't.Finally seeing sense, F1 agrees the need to fast-track PU changes for 2027, aiming for a 60:40 power split between ICE and EV elements. This will be achieved by increasing fuel flow to allow up to 50kW extra combustion power, and cutting electrical power by 50kW. The details still need to be finalised and ratified by the World Motor Sport Council.

Meanwhile the PU manufacturers are asking "just how much did we spend to get to the agreed goal of 50/50, since the regs were approved in 2022? For the sake of 1 year, and now talk that we have to throw away this spec, potentially in 2030?https://www.fia.com/news/f1-proposals-agreed-princ...

Exactly - the FIA keeps wittering on about reducing costs, yet keeps messing with regulations requiring a very expensive new engine to be designed and developed every few years

I wasn’t a massive fan of the last spec, but the field converged.
Not sure why we couldn’t have had those with sustainable fuel and the new aero.
