If you are thinking about going to monaco for the F1 give your head a wobble and go for the classic, you can thank me later.
Some mates did it the other year, enjoyed themselves but said it was just a display run really with little to no competition in most "races".Fine if you like that sort of thing but they reckoned it was more like the Goodwood Festival of Speed rather than the Revival etc which they much preferred. My mate reckoned it was a long way to go to watch some middle aged rich blokes play dress up in their expensive toys!

I miss when they used to have practice day on the Thursday. It made the race weekend that little bit longer.
Officially they claimed it was because Friday was *market day* in Monaco. Obviously it was to have all the high rollers in town for a day off, spending.
No, . The Grand Prix was historically scheduled to coincide with Ascension Day, and Thursday was a day off in Monaco.Officially they claimed it was because Friday was *market day* in Monaco. Obviously it was to have all the high rollers in town for a day off, spending.

It seems they stopped Thursday practice in 2022.

I was probably quoting Croft. Hence the confusion.

Yes - it was too tight logistically with Spain. It seems they stopped Thursday practice in 2022.
I’ll ask a friend in Monaco - if it was a public holiday then a street market would also be a logical consequence of a holiday.
I was at the 2003 race when Williams won in the wonderful screaming FW25 V10.
On the Friday I drove the circuit with a friend of mine who’d flown inn from the USA. When he realised we were on the actual circuit, he cried. I must admit it was a special moment.
The sound back then was epic.

“To clarify, ‘I have a bed’ is a reference to my main place of residence. Home is a colloquial term referring to a place with which I have an emotional attachment.”This is why F1 drivers are reluctant to say anything that hasn’t been approved by the legal and PR teams.

He rather carefully doesn't say where he pays his taxes. Far from great, it is a rather shallow thing to say.
So long as he pays taxes at the proper rate in each part of the world they fall due, there's simply nothing interesting to say about the subject.
