Sunday Service 12/01: Performance Car Show

The 2014 PHSS season starts in earnest with a special event at the NEC in Birmigham.

The 2014 Sunday Service calendar is starting early combining an exclusive opportunity to attend the Performance Car Show, Autosport International and a Sunday Service in one go...all this after we recently said we’d take a break in January!

We will have our own private Sunday Service hall at the NEC on Sunday 12th January, covered and lit, which provides safe and secure parking away from the usual NEC car park. If you were planning to attend the show you can now park for free and enjoy a Sunday Service too. If you didn’t plan to attend, you no longer have an excuse!

Conveniently our hall is located right next to the Performance Car show hall, so it will be an easy walk through to view some of the awesome cars. Best of all, access to our hall is limited to Sunday Service attendees only, no public access will be granted so your car will be safe for the day. Spaces are limited to just 160 so you’ll need to sign up fast to take advantage.

PistonHeads will be displaying 16 of the most iconic ‘PH Hero’ cars inside the Performance Car Show (details soon) but in addition to that there will be plenty of other stands from the likes of Autocar, Porsche, Noble, Caterham, Abarth, Lotus, Ariel, BAC, Complete Kit Car magazine and various car clubs.

You will need to book your ticket with us for entry to the show, there are a few different types of ticket:

Adult and Child tickets:

  • Entry to the Performance Car Show & Autosport International

  • Seat in the Live Action Arena

Paddock Passes:

  • Entry to the Performance Car Show & Autosport International

  • Seat in the Live Action Arena

  • Access to Driver Signing Area (F1 Racing Grid and BTCC display)

  • Access to backstage Paddock Area (in Live Action Arena)

  • Paddock guide

VIP Club

  • Entry to the Performance Car Show & Autosport International

  • FREE Parking at NEC

  • Access to VIP Club Lounge located in Hall 8

  • Fast Track Entry to the Live Action Arena

  • Access to VIP enclosure at the top of the Live Action Arena *

  • Access to Driver Signing sessions (F1 Racing Grid, BTCC Display and VIP Lounge)

  • Access to backstage Paddock Area in the Live Action Arena

  • Access to Coys Auction

  • Paddock Guide

  • Goodie Bag

* Unfortunately there's no wheelchair access to the VIP enclosure in the LAA

And the ticket prices are:

Ticket Type/ Advance Price
Adult £31.00
Child (6-15) £20.00
Paddock Pass £41.00
Child Paddock Pass (6-15) £30.50
VIP Club (Adult and child) £110.00

We will need you to be on site at the NEC between 0700 & 0830 to access the Sunday Service hall; you will also need to leave the car until at least 1200. After this you can either leave or stay until the show closes at 1800.

To reserve one of the 160 car spaces this is what you need to do:

  • Buy a ticket, tickets must be purchased through us

  • Head to the PH calendar and sign up as normal, quoting your  ticket booking reference number along with the make and model in the ‘notes’ section.

  • Note that while you must purchase at least one ticket to sign up for a place but if you wish to bring passengers, you can purchase extra tickets in advance here, by calling 0844 581 1419, or we will also be selling them at the venue.

We look forward to seeing you there.

I got my ticket from Groupon last week, does it mean I can't sign-up?

Can you confirm that it's any ticket which gets you the free parking? Or is it only the VIP club ones? I ask as it only says free parking in the VIP club ticket info.

Any Ticket + On the list = gets you Sunday Service parking.

VIP Ticket get's free parking in the normal parking at the NEC OR SS parking if you're on the list.

Booked! I was going to this anyway, normally I would take the train as cheaper than parking at the NEC, but as this is my local PHSS it would have been rude not to drive.

Nice idea but I'm not going next year. £31 +£2 booking fee for a ticket for a show that's getting smaller and worse every year.

Could someone just but a ticket and then park up their recession white Audi A4 in this 160 car area?

I don't have an Audi btw...

Are you pre-screening cars that will and will not be allowed into the display?

The display will be as per normal Sunday Services, all are welcome and only PH'ers will have access to the hall in which our cars are parked.

Signed up. The GF is now praying it will snow near our house so that the Zed stays in the garage, and her Mini Cooper ends up at the show :O)

From my understanding this year the show is bigger and better with more stuff in the Performance Car Show area than in prevous years.

Mind you, you sound a bit grumpy so maybe it's better you stay at home so the rest of us can enjoy it.
