Took my Nephews up to see 558 with my Mum (their Gran) (pictured below) and they had a really good time.

The youngest (I think he was 5 or 6 at the time) was JUST starting to get bored after about 2 hours!

I'd love to go for my 4th look at XH558 with the TVR along this time.

A great example of British engineering ( when Britain made our own planes , rockets, cars and bikes) but as someone who remembers that weekend in October '62 when we got ready to hide under the stairs i'm really glad they never got to show their stuff over Leningrad and Murmansk.
My father used to make inertial guidance gyros for the Blue Steel carried by many Vulcans.

Seen this old lady many times over the years. Sounds like a good day. Don't forget there's a Vulcan at Newark Air Museum.......and a Shackleton, plus lots else. If you're lucky on the day you visit, the Vulcan will be "open", i.e. a volunteer will be in the cockpit and you can join him for a chat for a 50p donation. Ditto the Shackleton; which is a great experience. Not been for a while but hopefully it still works this way.

50p? I'd happily donate £5 to have the privilege of sitting in the cockpit of either of those!

You lucky, lucky, lucky people. I adore the Vulcan bomber and sadly won't be able to attend as it's just too far away. Enjoy it.

Happy days all booked for the second SS after the NEC great events, it'll be great to see the Vulcan again after all the years of watching it on the air show circuit from the early 80's. Roll on the 23rd and see all other fellow pistonheads there.

You beat me to it biggrin

Fantastic news it that this event is nearly full. The guys are eager to help us out and most people have only booked themselves and their car in so if you want to go, you will probably need to get a lift with someone that's already booked in as a driver, discuss amongst each other but if you will be giving a lift to another PH'er, call 0845 124 7285 before 4pm on working days and quote your passenger's booking ID that was emailed to them after they paid. They will then add them to your car on their system.

Thank you

Nathan

As someone has already said read the book about the Falklands raid in 1982. Not being a great reader I watched the documentary on Youtube. A typically British Heath Robinson affair and an amazing story.

Apparently you cannot even use them as cover in the rain. Due to capillary action you will still get wet standing under its massive wings.

There's plenty of space to leave your car nearby if you aren't booked in to park at the Vulcan Hanger ... for instance outside the perimeter fence near the Cessna Hanger next door

Fantastic that is event is now full, it will be great to have a look around so many cars and meet fellow pistonheaders whilst getting to see the Vulcan. What cars can I look forward to seeing?! I'm going to get the old E39 M5 out for a run I think, a little more interesting than the M135i daily...!

320D. Sorry! That makes your M135 look like the most interesting car in the world!

It's sold out.

My 4 year old would love to see lots of cars and also the Vulcan so if anyone can't go now I'll buy your ticket and pay postage.

If by any miracle this is possible please PM me.
