Hi everyone,

In recent months we've been working hard to develop the ever popular Sunday Service format. Our aim is to make them bigger and better than ever before, as well as being as frequent as possible.

With this in mind, we've recently announced all of the Sunday Services that are currently booked in, which you can see by clicking the calendar link at the bottom of this post. As well as the date of the event, it specifies the date that the event will "go live" - allowing people to set themselves a reminder and avoid missing out if the attendance list fills up quickly.

One of the main reasons for doing this is that people not attending Sunday Services is becoming an ever increasing (and extremely selfish) problem. This is incredibly frustrating for us, the venues and more importantly the people that are on the reserves list. Remember that at many venues the hosts provide catering for those who have signed up - no shows cause waste, cost the venues money and damage PH's reputation. And to repeat my point again, it is really selfish and there is absolutely no excuse for it.

As such, starting 2 weeks ago at Bruntingthorpe we now take a register at the gate, which will allow us to identify non attending members. Obviously we'll be understanding in the unusual circumstances that someone has an emergency or a breakdown on their way to the venue, and extreme cases if the weather doesn't play ball then we'll take that into account too.

Ultimately, we're going to be quite strict and start removing people's access to sign up for Sunday Services if you don't turn up. To give you an example of how bad this situation has got, at Bruntingthorpe we had 177 attendees our of 234 that had signed up... even after we'd made it very clear that no shows would be noted down. Keep in mind that the weather forecast had been great all week too.

So far we've not taken any action against no shows - instead we're just compiling a naughty list whilst we make some changes to our calendar system to make the banning process more streamlined. But be under no illusion, if you were signed up for Bruntingthorpe or Silverstone and didn't attend you'll be hearing from us.

However, here are the rules. If you stick to these, you wont have any issues:

1) Only put your name down on the list if you are really quite sure that you can attend. You can now check all the events for the whole year and keep your diary clear.
2) If you can't attend, remove your name immediately. Anyone who removes their name after 12:000pm on the Friday before an event will be classed as a no show. (because by this point you've effectively taken someone else's place as most people will have made plans for their weekend by then). This also gives people a chance to look at a relatively accurate weather forecast before deciding.
3) If you find yourself in exceptional circumstances, simply email me or Jack. We're not unreasonable and are only implementing these rules to make Sunday Services better for everyone.

Thanks everyone - We hope to see lots and lots of you at Sunday Services!
