RE: Aston Martin Sunday Service: 8/5/16
Discussion
The white Lotus Carlton disappeared early on because it re-surfaced at Bicester Heritage's Sunday Scramble. Fair play to the owner for making both events.
I recently saw an original one parked in Bicester Village (in Imperial Green), looked immaculate. The person I was with could not understand why I was getting rather excited over an old Vauxhall

Was there a white Lotus Carlton in the car park? I seem to recall driving past one on my way in but it wasn't there later on when I had a look around and no one seems to have taken any pics of it?

Looked stunning!

For those who don't know the car, it was built up (from a Vauxhall Carlton shell) into a Lotus Carlton replica by Joe Ellis of BTB Exhausts, Daventry for racing at the Silver State road race in Nevada, USA. I believe he competed on two occasions and left the car over there in the mean time. He achieved some unholy average speed over the 90 mile distance, which is now written on the boot-lid with a map of the route (à la Nürburgring sticker).
Due to the unusual nature of the race, he was faced with a few unique problems, notably cooling. I think he added a rear differential oil cooler on the advice of Hethel and possibly a larger fuel tank. I believe that the Big Block V8 driving Americans were mightily impressed with the speeds that the relatively small capacity Lotus achieved. Remember that the Lotus Carlton/Omega was never sold there, so no-one knew what it was.
After the second event Joe brought the car back home and didn't use it for a while, before recommissioning it a couple of years ago. I think he didn't want to push his luck any more after getting airborne at nigh-on 180mph!

To the owner of a black Aston Martin reg: CN07 CZM Check the front of your car - I witnessed an utter prick (in an AM convertible that was parked next to yours) reverse into your car and then drive off knowing full well he had hit it. There was a fairly loud crack - I think (hope) it was just the numberplate surround. This was around 11 am.
My son and I also witnessed this, they knew what they'd done but still drove away. Tried to get a pic of the culprit but wasn't quick enough!Grey AM Roadster poss V12.

Also witnessed this with MGR. The number plate bracket of the damaged car is cracked. Could have been worse, but I imagine it's not a cheap part from Aston Martin.
Thank you vey much for letting me know, someone very kindly re-posted your message about it on the Aston Martin forum. Luckily enough it looks like it is just a broken number plate plinth which took the impact. As I said on the other forum I would like to think that whoever did it, did so unknowingly and didn't realise as accidents do happen and I wouldn't want to start a 'Witch Hunt' as hopefully they will do the decent thing and step forward!
Many Thanks
Dave
It's all been resolved amicably, I had a chat with the gentlemen involved who did the 'gentlemanly thing' after picking up on one of the threads.
Obviously, the poor chap is slightly embarrassed about the incident especially as it makes it looks like he was trying to get away with something. After speaking to him it clearly wasn't his intention and as I suspected, it was a total accident and I can completely understand how it happened and why he may not have realised.
Thanks to all to kindly notified me and also to Mr 'X' who contacted me.

Is there anyone interested in being part of a group booking for Prodrive/Aston Martin Racing? Means taking time off work in the day but very good
