Advertising Sunday Service on Facebook
Discussion
So I know I'm not alone in mentioning why pistonheads posted events on Facebook as it was clearly attracting non members to events (goodwood there was around 5+ abarths that I know had not registered from it being on Facebook and I believe prodrive there was also a few who had seen it on Facebook but not registered)
And now pistonheads latest post on Facebook?
Now these events are already oversubscribed by genuine members, and members who don't post just attend events. So why do you need to encourage others to sign up to attend when you can't fit all us genuine members into events?

The issue I see is that Facebook will attract the YouTube/CarSpotter kids. Historically everyone knew that registering on Pistonheads was essential and while there would be a few drop outs on the day P'Heads members basically knew not to turn up if they were not registered. Promoting these on FB achieves nothing positive that I can see... Other than advertising opportunity for Haymarket.

They're asking for 3 or 4 bodies to help with parking for this Sunday.
Sensible (in fact, I suggested it on the last SS thread). It's about keeping people moving and giving them time to park.
If you have 4 rows and sent a car to each, they all get a chance to park... saves a bloody huge queue.

You seem surprised.
It would appear to me that the organisation of the PHSSeses has dramatically dropped in the last 18 months. Maybe that's because they're more popular now, I don't know.
The track time booking vs attendance list debacle is not great for Silverstone SS that's for sure. It would appear to me that the organisation of the PHSSeses has dramatically dropped in the last 18 months. Maybe that's because they're more popular now, I don't know.

How about a team at the entrance to control selfie stick kids ?
Next SS I attend I'm going to wear a..
I'm sure this was also discussed last year or was it the beginning of this year? Certainly in years gone by there was a whole team of staff at the gate to pass biscuits too. These days you're lucky if there's 1 so I haven't bothered. How about a team at the entrance to control selfie stick kids ?

15 people booked in the top 500 that say they've booked track time and around the same who "might"....The annoying thing for me is the list goes up around 2pm, I leave to go to work at 2.15pm and don't get there to my PC until around 4pm so if the list is up later I miss out which is annoying (with Prodrive I had to keep stopping in a layby to check my phone on the way in)

Sadly though the timings will never suit everyone's circumstances. You put it at 9am you exclude the night shift workers, 12pm you exclude Dave because that's when he always goes to the loo, 5pm Roger because he's got latin dance class and so on. Definitely 100% agree.. Ideally a time needs to be put and stuck to so we all know when the list will go liveGassing Station | Events & Meetings | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
