Silverstone Sunday Service 29/10

Nope, that's not a mistake, we're back at Silverstone! Here's how to join us on the 29th

We like Silverstone so much that we'll be returning for the third time this year. Yep, three times so far, and with it being one of the biggest events on the PH calendar it just keeps getting better and better. So on October 29th we'll be there with discounted track time for you lovely bunch.

The days events will be much the same as our previous Silverstone Sunday Services - there will be six track sessions over the course of the morning, with a maximum of 30 cars on track per session, priced at just £45 a time. The sessions are split into two groups - novice and intermediate - meaning there's lots of space and tons of fun. We're also running two PH Fleet cars on the day for those of you that would rather just stay in the passenger seat.

To book the track sessions, please do so here or if you're booking over the phone, call 01327 320409 and quote 'Piston1017'. Please also remember to sign yourself up on our calendar if you're going out on track, as everyone attending needs to be registered.

Obviously there will also be the normal Sunday Service aspect of it, with no track time - and for that we have 500 spaces (but no limit on people, so feel free to bring passengers!). Get yourself signed up to the calendar here to secure your space. As usual, please only sign up if you're 100 per cent sure you can come, as taking up a space that you don't use is seriously frowned upon. And just for the record, removing yourself from the list at the last minute doesn't make it okay!

Food and refreshments will be available onsite from Silverstone's cafe; we'll be there for coffee and brekky bright and early and Chris, our photographer will be there taking photos of the event.

Please note once more that if you do book track time, your name needs to be added to the Sunday Service calendar as well. If you are going on track you will be parked in the paddock, but as the areas are next to each other, you will be able to wander around looking at the other cars in attendance. Also, like all track activities this event will be subject to stoppages and weather conditions. Fingers crossed for sunshine...

UPDATE - TRACK INSURANCE

Moris.co.uk are once again able to offer discounted track insurance for these sessions. To get a quote, complete this form.

Ignore that it says over £30K - all drivers should complete this form only. Select 'PistonHeads / Haymarket' as the organiser, and they'll get back to you soon with a quote.

See you there!

The PH Team.

Managed to get first on the list - do I win a prize? biggrin

This is without a doubt always my favourite SS. The smell and sound of the track, wonderful chat with fellow enthusiasts, a reasonably priced and fulfilling breakfast. Can't wait. Even my wife enjoys this one!

You were mega quick on signing up! I sent the calendar live, refreshed, and there you were. Come over to the stall on the day and I'll give you a PH sticker for having superhuman reactions. thumbup

Happy to have signed up for what should be my first time driving round Silverstone. Which track configuration will we be using?

My brother-in-law is asking if there are any deals or recommendations regarding track insurance if considering taking a car on track at this event? I'm assuming you can insure for one session rather than the whole day?

All sounds great, looking forward to it. Is there a link up with Morris again for cheap track insurance to reflect it's just 30 minutes not a whole day cover required?

I have an E46 M3 and would like to take it on a track one day.

I feel like I know what I'm doing but I have zero track experience other than video games in my youth.

Would Sunday Service be a bad place to start? I will still come anyway, but just wondering as I don't really know if total novices are allowed?

On the list, hotel booked (£60 incl breakfast!), track session booked.

Now, better see what I can do to quieten the Lotus down a bit......

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between the 'novice group' and 'novice taster'. Price is £45 per Adult, if you want to take a passenger, is that still £90 to go out in 1 car?

£45 per car. Novice means never been on track. I think it's just a typo with the taster and non taster sessions.

I was in the same predicament at the SS at Silverstone earlier this year, my first time out and it was great. Good getting some seat time out on track, pushing myself and the car a bit more each lap and learning track etiquette (although not everyone follows it as we know).

I'd highly recommend it smile

Do it. Perfect opportunity-the novice sessions are perfect for this. As long as you listen in the briefing and follow the etiquette (move over for quicker stuff, no overtaking in corners/braking zones, don't drive like a complete dick basically) you'll be fine. Warning-it'll be the most expensive and addictive thing you'll ever do...

I've found the PH sessions to be some of the best track time I've done-there's little/no willy waving or idiotic driving, everyone is respectful and just wants to make sure they and everyone else has fun and goes home with car and body in one piece.
