RE: Ginetta Sunday Service 25/02
Discussion
A thousand apologies to the good folks at PH hq but after spending the day coughing my lungs up I’ve had to remove my name from the list at a very late stage.
Very annoyed as this is the closest PHSS to me by some distance and I’ve loved the previous ones there.
Good news for Dazzler2903 as he now makes the cut. Enjoy.

Thanks to PH for arranging a SS up Norf today and for the very kind people of Ginetta giving tours of their house.
Have to say though that I was pretty disappointed by the lack of decent cars there which meant there really was very little to see.
I know PH have little control over who attends, but I also feel the organisation was very lacking. What exactly was the point of restricting numbers to 200 when there was ample parking on the roads nearby? If it was made clearer whether anyone 200+ could attend then maybe that may have produced a better turnout.?.?.?
Even as a registered attendee we turned up in my mates Techart 911 Turbo at 9am, only to be directed round the back. Surely it would have made more sense to have the more interesting cars that people want to see all at the front, rather than a number of vans and other pretty mundane cars. A big part of events like these is seeing other interesting cars, but as such we didn’t really bother as it was like hide and seek!
Sorry for the negatives and maybe I’m on my own on this, but if not, perhaps it’ll be useful for future events.

You are not on your own. It’s fantastic that these all inclusive events are organised, and I alplauld all involved for arranging these events but it was my first ‘Sunday Service’ and was reviewing in relation to all the threads on here about controls, etc.
There were none, anyone could drive in park up and have a wander round, I printed off the parking sign, bit of a waste of time as only a small number of cars had one and no one checked it or my user name on the way in.
I had a friend who was number 201 on the list, he stayed at home, he could have added to the ‘nice car’ count but didn’t.
Was shocked to see someone who you’d think is a PH member allowing his kids to slide down the bonnet of one of the Ginetta show cars repeatedly, hope they showed a bit more restraint outside.
Spotted the 911 round the back, looked nice.
I have to agree on the lack of organisation. Whats the point in e-mailing car park passes out & people putting them in the window if there is no-one checking them & sorting the parking out. It was a complete free for all. It really didn't matter if you were in the 200 - anybody could have turned up & got the factory tour. You could also get breakfast which Pistonheads said was not available!
Ginetta were brilliant, you were welcome to wander around, sit in cars, ask questions, very very accommodating, really enjoyed the tour.

Yeh I'd agree with the comments too if I'm honest. I also got there just before 9 and managed to get one of the spots on the front in my mates Porsche but having a ford galaxy and a passat and other none exotic cars in there and then going round the back to see some Aston's, f types r, etc was a bit poor.
Thanks for organizing it though. We didn't go on a tour because by the time we got there the earliest time was 10:30 and didn't fancy waiting.

Agree with your comments too. Saw black turbo round the back, very nice. Mine was the white 991 turbo S packed round the front. I left at 9.45 as there wasn't much metal to admire outside and it was too cold to hang around for my 10.45 tour!Have to say though that I was pretty disappointed by the lack of decent cars there which meant there really was very little to see.

I’m local so popped in on-spec as a non-registered visitor and parked my Elise on the road. I’ve been twice before so wasn’t bothered about signing up and the tour (which is excellent).
Some lovely cars on show, I loved seeing and hearing the two Evora 400s for example but yes not much which counted as “exotic” this time round.
Was thinking this morning that it was down to the time of year - it’s cold, salty and when planning further ahead than the day before you have to expect wet and windy. Would be nice to have events up north in Summer too!
That said, sunshine in Ilkley brought all all-sorts out of hibernation this afternoon - saw a Ferrari 599, Aston Vanquish, Aventator, Mustang, E-Typea as well as MG’s and Porsche’s galore...
