RE: Ginetta Sunday Service 25/02
Discussion
Personally would like to thank Pistonheads and Ginetta for putting on the event. We don't get as many events in the North, so pleased Ginetta were so accommodating.
It was mentioned that more people turned up than they were expecting so I'd assume future events will be more organised.
I presume that due to the time of year many of the interesting cars will be tucked away in garages, including mine, which wont be out of hibernation for another month. But it is great to be able to peruse the Porsche's, Lotuses, TVRs', 4C and Astons that could make it, whilst we were waiting for one of the later tours.

A big thanks to Ginetta for providing one of the few Sunday services up north that I can get to. Really enjoyed the factory tour and the ability to get close to the manufacturing process and even talk to the guy who was building the gearbox as well. Nice staff and Ian (I think the sales director) did a great job taking us round. As it was winter and very gritty/salty I wasn't expecting any exotics anyway......but there were still some nice cars in the car park.
As always many thanks for organising it! I've never been one for saying 'that car is allowed' and that one isn't. For the extra people you'll bring in you'll put others off for being seen as being "inferior" The mix of cars was not bad outside but yes the car park was a little on the small side. Having the area better so as to cater for 200 cars would have been better.
The rest of it was spot on! It was fantastic being able to get up close, touch and see what was going on with the cars. The tours were quite welcoming, open and generally spot on. If I am honest me and my passenger preferred this meet to the last ProDrive meet ; It was Ginetta themselves that widely swung that factor I suspect.
I was in two minds about putting my name down since I knew I'd be going in my 'inferior' W124 compared to the other cars in the car park and Leeds is quite a way from Warwickshire. It was however very much well worth the effort and I walked out with a different perspective and respect for Ginetta.
For similar reasons like many I didn't bring my M3 along; I suspect it will be another month before that sees the road again.
Many thanks for Ginetta and Pistonheads for holding the great event. I'll certainly consider the next one.

Top marks to Ginetta, fabulous hosts and a great factory tour. Me and my passengers all enjoyed it and It was very hands on, the le-mans cars were great to see up close and personal, fantastic machines.
Thanks PH!
As for the parking, i was surprised no one checked the printed PH badges in the cars on entry. We turned up about 8:45 and were surprised to see the car park so full, we did get a spot though.
Thanks PH!

Thank you to PH and Ginetta for giving up their time and putting on an enjoyable day!!
The tour was great!
After driving over 100 miles with the roof down in minus 2 degrees, the complimentary tea and coffee was much appreciated!! Although we were a little surprised to smell cooked bacon after being told there would be no hot food available. (We had already stopped and eaten as a result.)
There were some nice cars and even the sun was shining!

Thanks to Pistonhead and Ginetta for sorting/hosting this yet again. It's my 3rd visit in 3 years and enjoy it every time we go. Didn't seem to be anywhere near as busy as the last 2 years have been. And the early time of year means a lot of cars are still in winter hibernation.

A picture of my car! God bless you sir. Normally it avoids the limelight but not today!Posted my photos here: https://www.renaultsportclub.co.uk/forum/general-f...
I for one felt grateful. Everything can be improved (I also turned up with the paper attached to the windscreen) but it needs to be taken into account that it was a free event.
For me the point was to visit the factory. If some nice cars were spotted, it would only add to an already excellent experience. Even my car got a bit of attention despite being a (nowadays) cheap 350Z!
All for all, worth the trip and a morning to remember.
Thanks PH and Ginetta!

Hi all,
Thanks for coming and I'm glad (nearly) everyone had a fab time!
I can understand the points raised; with it being winter there is unfortunately less likelihood of the more exotic cars turning up, however this is part of the reason we try to aim for more inside oriented venues such as this so that it can be balanced out. However, what we definitely don't do is tell specific cars where to park - Sunday Services are all about Clios parked up next to Ferraris, everyone is welcome and that is how it's going to stay!
Regarding the windscreen print outs - I can only apologise for the lack of people parking cars and checking the badges! We were supposed to have 4 members of the team there so that we could have enough people manning our stand and a couple outside at the gate and parking. Unfortunately due to sickness and such that dwindled down to 2... So yes, it was a bit pointless this time but usually it most certainly is not and they are checked when turning up.
Hopefully that didn't spoil what was otherwise a very fun morning!
Cheers.

Wow, how disappointing to see people moaning about having to park next to cars that don't live up to their expectations. Completely goes against what makes the PH community special. I personally don't mind what people bring, I just love being there with similar minded people who love cars. Plus, surely every car enthusiast would know that most of the special cars are still wrapped up in this weather?
