Was thinking of joining the ACO club for it benefits during the 24hrs, mainly the viewing areas.
Anybody joined the club? If so, worth it you think? Also, Does 1 membership entitle you and another to the enclosures etc, any observations greatfully received

I did this for exactly the same reason. You need to decide which level of membership you want and be aware that the cheap option doesn't get you into the viewing areas. There are 3 (exit of Porsche curves, main grandstand (but all tickets will have gone) but you still get access to the bar, restaurant and showers and after the Dunlop bridge. I went to the facility at porsche curves a couple of years ago and the viewing was super, quiet, civilised but quite pricey for drinks. My understanding is that your single membership allows you to sign in another guest (possibly up to 3 others - but at a cost)

I wouldn't join for viewing areas tbh. Main benefit for me is pre sale for camping (though still not guaranteed to get what you want) and discounts on entry which are guaranteed.

I wouldn't call the grandstand cafe a 'bar' as such. Yes you can get drinks and food there but I wouldn't want to spend an afternoon in there.

Toilets and showers are a plus

Wife and children are included. You can then take a further three guests at a cost of 15 euros each.

There are two levels of membership but I'm not aware of any major benefits to tourists for the higher one (Elite)

I have been an ACO member for a long time, The benefits are discounted race tickets (6) discounted camping (2) a free programme and pack when you register at the aco building when you arrive, access to the aforementioned viewing area's. Discounts for the Classic on alternative years and other events at le mans. The yearly cost i pay is about 108 euro so the discounts of 20 per GE tickets alone cover that if you are booking for 6 people. AS stated the ACO grandstand tickets are for members only but sell out very quickly, however you also get access to the ticket site about 1 week before non members. The discounts also apply if you get your tickets from the tourist office if you tell them you are a member.

I didn't realise there's an ACO enclosure by the Porsche Curves - which side of the track, and how do you access it?

It's after the curves on the straight before the chicanes so on the right if you're a car on track
