No comment on the injection, but I agree the tree pollen is REALLY bad this year. Lots of drugs and still not much sleep.

Tree pollen is at horrific levels currently, dont think ive ever sneezed so much in my life, i went to bed aching last night as i had the most horrendous sneezing fit after taking the dog out for her bedtime jobs and just as bad today. Phoned up docs and they suggested Cetirizine, seems to have worked a treat as most seem to have no effect on me.

I have a Homedics HEPA air purifier. Sent as part of the Amazon Vine program, so free. Noisy on full blast, quiet enough for a hallway on low.

It's been great over the last two years. Normally hay fever knocks me out for the day, I can sit in front of this thing on full for five minutes and get almost instant relief. Outgoing air feels fresh and cool.

Now leave it running during the day in the hay fever system, (with the windows closed) it does clean out the air.

Downsides: expensive if it doesn't work for you. Also needs filters, at the rate of one every 18 months or so. They're about £20. If sitting in the car with the air-con on recirc through the pollen filter brings relief, this might work for you, although there's no cooling. So it must just be the filtration.

Larger Purifier is available on Amazon (£100), but more expensive.

I used to have the injection (Kenalog) as a kid, most GPs wont give it now unless you say you are really suffering and insist on it.
It lowers your immune system and can cause all sort of problems, then again as Sir Brad knows it also increases your cycling ability.

I take benadryl plus which has a decongestant and for the most part the work very well.

I was going to have the injection years ago, but “muscle wastage” was mentioned so I binned it off.

I buy cheap crappy Boots hayfever tablets - 99p for 15 tablets. Think they do both Cetirizine and Loratadine.

I start taking them at the start of March and I seem to be better off, despite my eyes and nose flowing like Niagara without them.

It's not perfect though, there are days when it's still bad but it's only the odd day rather than the whole summer.

I had the Kenalog injection two days ago.

First time and yet to fully test the promise of full hayfever relief. I decided to have the injection as I really suffered over the weekend so booked myself in to a clinic round the corner from work. Took 5 minutes in total and cost £89.

Fingers crossed..

Cetirizine Hydrochloride. Nothing special, just the cheap and cheerful ones (Mine are Galpharm). Have tried Loratadine but they don't seem to work for me.

Started taking them about two weeks ago - one in the morning when I wake up and one in the evening before bed.

Seem to keep the worst of it at bay. Still sneezing but eyes aren't red and streaming and can at least breathe through the night.

Take the tablets every day, even if you don't feel too bad, as it seems to take a few days for them to "kick in". I'll stop taking them around end of May once the tree pollen dies down.

I’ve had Kenalog injections for the past 10yrs and can confidently say that they work. If you have bad hay fever, it’ll take the uncomfortable edge off the symptoms. It won’t remove them totally.
A shot costs £100 with a private clinic.

Not had the injection but I suffer badly

I take a citerizine every day, and I find the best thing is putting a film of Vaseline around the inside of my nostrils in the morning and I won’t sneeze all day

I find chewing gum also helps when you do sneeze and seems to calm it down, and a throat sweet sorts out a sore throat.

No help for eyes as I wear contact lenses so don’t suffer too badly
