I enjoyed it too - Nice cars, tasty bacon bap and hilarious skid pan

Although washing the car on Saturday turned out to be a bit of a waste of time.....

It was a massive coned off area with no people, so not much risk apart from hitting a cone...as a first time visitor to thruxton and a regular at Pod drift days, the area looked like it had actually been set up for drift practice!! Maybe that's just me...
It wasn't just me then that thought that
Masbo was also drifting around the Thruxton sign at the entrance too (in other words, on the public road)... Doing things like this is why we haven't been able to return to some Sunday Service venues, and we absolutely do not want to keep adding to that list. People who are thinking of doing things like this at future Sunday Services - take note!

Sorry to put a downer on the thread! This is the last we'll speak of it smile

Thanks for coming along everyone, was a great morning.

Ariel Nomad man you are very brave and I admire your courage.

VW Camper person, your car was my fav of the day, very cool cloud9

Any idea if the pictures being taken at the skid pan will be available at all?

Thanks for coming all - the team running the skid pan enjoyed some highlights which included a very oversteery Mondeo estate, a violently rotating Lexus, that looney in the 7 type thing and the Holden / VXR / heavenly sounding Aussie thing who basically got stuck. More than once.

He was doing it within about 15ft of a line of parked cars - and cones wouldn't have done anything if he'd lost it. It was an idiotic thing to do.
There was absolutely plenty of space, if you 'lose it' from doing a very low speed donut hugging the inside cone you'd literally stop within a foot, simples
Exactly, donuts around a cone are about as tame as it gets and you are probably at the wrong meet if you can get a donut so spectacularly wrong that you hit cars that far away.

HOWEVER it is PH's meet so play by their rules. Anything outside the venue is fair game...

I took a few but not many I'm afraid – but will post what I have up on our Facebook page this evening. If there are any in there that you'd like in high res, just drop me a PM smile

I'd assumed the guy standing at the skid pan taking pics was a professional.....?

Hoping he might pop up and post a link to purchase a few.

That Mondeo driver was myself, and yes, I was just as surprised as them, but it was alot of fun!

Glad it made a few people's day, albeit unintentionally!

Some of the idiotic antics that get PH kicked out of so many venues. What is it about BMW drivers?

Finally found a few minutes to look back on yet another enjoyable SS.

And yes, i was indeed the one taking a million pics, having a great time & stayed right to the end. Pretty much the last one there, leaving 40 mins after the event was supposed to finish!

From the moment i arrived, it felt like a bit of a homecoming. I'd not been to Thruxton for 20 years & wanted to enjoy every moment & to experience everything possible. Especially the skid pan.

And not a single thing left me disappointed! Even if the weather played up big time in the middle!

I even met new people & catched up with a few others too.

And then, another favourite bit, the verity of cars on show. Always a treat!

Enjoy the pics & videos from the skid pan!

I took a few photos in one of the sessions but not all morning I'm afraid. Mission Motorsport had a photographer out for the last session I believe!

Few of mine from the skid pan:
