They're quick even with the sluggish auto box. Mid-range is impressive.
The 7 speed manual is a bit quicker as well. Remember folks that this car can come with the atessa AWD system that was used in the GTR's of old. The current GTR uses a tweaked version. Edited by ChiChoAndy on Tuesday 10th May 21:51
I like it because it's different, but for some reason they look better wafting around the roads of Canada than the UK. It looks a bit 'bulky' here.
The only reason the residuals are 'holding up' is because supply levels are so low with the whole thing so tightly controlled by the manufacturer there is no real exposure to the market. No demand but also no supply equals relative stability.
Residuals would go in to freefall with these big petrol engines on offer if they 'did a Cadillac' and brought a few thousand over but they've obvously watched and learnt that slow burn is the way to go more like Lexus. Nothing wrong with that approach to business though.
They may even make money by putting them on the same boat as some Nissans, selling them for much more and having a small area in Nissan head office with just a few staff dealing with it. RHD means virtual standard Japanese spec so there's plenty of margin.

Well, that Sir - is a dog.
I can't take this seriously as an alternative to a BMW or Audi A5.
This is not only a warmed over Nissan/Renault, but also a Shadow BMW.
It doesn't go down a different route. It just travels the main road in a
way less refined. Why opt for that?
Remember 1995? Back then you had Alternatives:

...it has a nicer interior than BMW or Audi rivals ..
I registered interest for this when they said they were coming over, as I thought it might be a good alternative to the usual luxury stuff, but then I saw this strange setup on the dashboard:-and I have to say I was put off, it just seemed odd that you would probably have to lean forward in the seat to use the buttons on the horizontal bit in front of the sat nav screen. (I have not however botthered to even go to a garage and sit in one as I was put off by what I thought was a strange design flaw) - good job we are all different I guess !

They all seem to have that kind of design, I noticed it to when I first drove their FX50 crossover (at Zolder)and I have to say I was put off, it just seemed odd that you would probably have to lean forward in the seat to use the buttons on the horizontal bit in front of the sat nav screen. Didn't have any problem reaching for the horizontal buttons, as they're within arms reach...
I was equally impressed at the time by the way the factory test driver managed to steer the G37(convertible) around the track... Might have had the AWD system though. And they do look better in the flesh I think. Just my 2p...

As the owner of an Infiniti G37 convertible, I can tell you that they are VERY colour dependant.
Any photos of your car? Upload them to the thread! The model Riggers has looks depressingly dull inside and out, I assume the plethora of gadgets are designed to distract you from that fact. For most intents and purposes taking on this G37 as PH car is pointless.
As displayed in this thread people will dismiss it right away just because it isn't german. It won't matter if the car is good or bad. It doesn't have a badge they can flash in the pub so it's not worth much to them.
You won't convince anyone. Ppl will keep saying how dull it is, how awful the interior is, how it's not faster that this or that buy 99% of them won't even go to the dealership to have a look at one.
Let's face it, good or bad jap cars are for those who have enough imagination to go beyond Germany. The rest will not be convinced whatever you do.

on a side note, no, audi, bmw and merc are not luxury brands. however, some of the cars they make are luxury cars....audi A8, merc S class and bmw 7 series. all very good at being luxurious. it's just they also make less luxurious cars. they just cater for more people than just those after luxury.
I wouldn't class any of those as luxurious, I would class a Rolls Royce Phantom or a Bentley mulsanne as luxury cars.on a side note, no, audi, bmw and merc are not luxury brands. however, some of the cars they make are luxury cars....audi A8, merc S class and bmw 7 series. all very good at being luxurious. it's just they also make less luxurious cars. they just cater for more people than just those after luxury.

I quite like these but I think the colour does the car no justice, they look much better in bright red.
I often see one of these in black, and it does have good presence IMO. I do quite like the styling too, although I agree with the earlier comment that the grey really doesn't do anything for it.So what is Infiniti? I always presumed they were to be a luxury brand similar to Lexus. But, then the release this, which does 60 in sub six seconds, they sponsor Red Bull F1 and have built a rally car. Don't get me wrong i quite like this car but as soon as you have a brand which is confusing it can all become very tw4tty, very quickly.
As requested, my white G37 convertible. Couple of other points...... yes the auto box does hunt a bit (even the 7 speed) but you can flick to paddle operation easily. Also the "infotainment" system does NOT require you to stretch across the dash. There are steering wheel controls AND voice activation! Go drive one.
