How To Prepare For An MOT - Self Service Manuals?
Discussion
I'm after a manual/book (online or offline) which tells me precisely what needs to be checked prior to submitting a car for an MOT. I've started servicing my vehicle (Ford Ranger) this year and have enjoyed the process (and monetary savings) to date. But I'm not sure of everything which is required for an MOT.
Anyone have any recommendations?

Just about every mechanic I know will put a car in for an MOT, fix what they find wrong, pay for the re-test and charge you overall. It is by far the most economic way of passing an MOT otherwise you may be fixing things that may last for years.
For example, I was going to replace the pads and discs on my old Golf GTI (about £100)due to the rotor being "lipped" but it flew the MOT without even an advisory. Most modern cars generally give you a warning light for anything mechanical.

That's what I'm after, but something which is easier to navigate (preferably a PDF) and maybe includes illustrations where useful?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
