Lap records...at the Ring and Top Gear track spring to mind. Looks lovely though, typical class British design....we really are on a roll at the moment!

Only issue is you won't be allowed on trackdays being a single-seater. You could of course do testing days, but then why not get a Formula Renault or something similar, which will be way faster, as well as being cheaper to buy and run?

Single seater. Road legal.

Every sensible married man should have a car that meets these two core criteria.

Normally that restriction is because of the race nature of single seaters (or open wheel cars). I doubt that most trackdays would have any issue with it at all.

If its road legal it should be allowed on a track tbh.

It really is a lovely looking thing, and certainly looks a quality bit of kit. I adore it.

Exactly. It is open wheeled cars which are not allowed on track days, not single-seaters. It just happens to be that open wheeled cars ARE single-seaters so people sometimes use that phrase.

Caterhams? Or is it more to do with the rear wheels being open?

Great piece of British Engineering. Good luck to them. Can only imagine the fun if you've got a couple of mates who've also got 80k spare.
Spot on!

Bloody good luck to them.

I've been following this car since I first saw it earlier this year. Looks absolutely fantastic. Good on them for taking the plunge and putting it into production.

Very, very tempting.

Looking at the technical spec it sounds like it is a 2.3lt Duratec that Cosworth have modified to 280BHP.

Looks nice...bet they make a Duo later based on the same platform.
Dangerously close to an X-Bow, that with two seats if you ask me...

did you know this car has a screen in the steering wheel. this screen gives you all the data but also doubles as the push start. that's right, it detects your security fob on your person. you then press the screen to start the car, very Apple esk. take that McLaren

Didn't think much of these when I first saw them, I must say I've warmed to them a lot and wish them every success. I'd still rather have an Atom, but more the merrier and all that smile

An excellent choice.

I've changed a 2 seated toy for a 2+2 so that I stand a chance of not having to drive a Beemer for the next 20 years. But having looked at this car I suspect I may have gone the wrong way.

Who was it that once said something to the effect of "if it looks good, it probably IS good" (was it Chapman?)

Either way, that springs to mind with this machine. Tremendous looking bit of kit yes
