Not a bentley fan in anyway and (should I ever be wealthy enough) would never expect to buy one but that particular conti ss looks absolutely lovely. Bet it sounds fantastic as well, probably lovely inside and no doubt goes like stink.

I do want one smile

Is there something wrong with me for thinking that this new Bentley is just a poor relation to the Azure and the Arnage? But my main reason for not buying one is the humiliation I might suffer from my friends for driving around in a WAG-WAGON. Sorry Bentley, I'd love to have owned a BENTLEY, but the footballer associating has seriously damaged the brand image, IMHO! No problem obviously, there are many more buyers where I did not come from I'm sure. LOL

Don't know. The only one i like is the Q7 the rest are toss. They're fun to drive but really dont understand the point of tuning them to preform like a sports car

I've always assumed that 'sporty' 4x4s were pointless - but then someone loaned me their Cayenne S and whilst it was an ugly as ugly can be, my god did it drive.

It didn't just drive "well for an offroader", it drove "well full stop". I'd used an X5 before that and an RRS not long after and both were clearly decent cars but this was something else entirely - it was, from my limited experience at least, not a kick-in-the-arse off a 911 in driving terms (my driving - anyway!)...

Apart from the fact that the owner lives along an unmade road which the 911 would never make it through - and it replaced a 911 and he said that basically, it was every bit as quick and fun to drive BUT would make it to his house!!

Not tried the latest version of the RRS - but that video of the diesel whooping around the 'Ring is pretty impressive...

i know what you mean. I had 6 guys in the Q7 and the ease in which it pulled to 140 mph and still pulling was amazing and that was just the 3 ltr s line model can only imagine what the ultra rare v10 version is like. thats the thing just great in a straight line. would rather have a standard model instead of a high performance one like RSS

I don't like the Q7 (it's the looks), but the X5 I bought having previously vowed never to buy an SUV is silly fast. It's not even the M version (that should not exist), but it does 0/60 in 5.5 seconds.

I wasn't sold on these, seen the ghastly orange one in the flesh at Geneva and was even more disappointed, this though - my god doesn't it look good? I absolutely LOVE this!!

The fact that a bunch of overpaid "sportsman" tend to purchase these does not make them a bad car and if i had the means to purchase one, i would not be concerned about who else had one.

The image doesn't bother me but I have found that they tend to be owned by middle-aged businessmen with bottle-blonde wives. I'm not sure I could handle the pressure of not dressing like the scruffy git I am just to drive the car.
However, it is unfortunate that so many people see them and form an immediate negative opinion.

I have met some of these new money rich types that tend to drive these and think if i had one id carry on dressing like a "scruffy git" just in order to stick the two fingers up to their little establishment lol.

The only real problem here is it's still based on the old model. There is a new Continental GT out, which has a greater difference in size between the outer and inner headlamps, and a huge number of other changes. There will be a new Speed, and a new Supersports, but not yet. A slightly used one of these, or a brand new 2012 model, are surely the best choices at this time.

are they seriously suggesting that one department just happened to be developing a better gearbox at the same time as another department just happened to be hopping the engine up at the same time as another dept just happened to be looking into weight saving.

Don't give us this 'charmingly eccentric british purveyor of motor vehicles' line, this was as planned as the latest GT* version of the 911

it doesn't make the car any less desirable, so why even say it?

it's a car that i have always liked, but as alluded to in the article, it has indeed suffered by association with the orange cheshire set and as such i have never been particularly tempted to own one.
I was there, and this is exactly what happened, he is 100% accurate.

The company is full of passionate, unusually enthusiastic, people. Even though that might be old fashioned that is just the way it is.
