Evening Guys, I need some advice on the brake servo to plenum vacuum hose. I think mine may be letting air in at the servo end as it appears to be strained purely due to gravity pulling it down. Any suggestions on how I cure it? and if a new hose is required where I can source one? Thanks very much as always.

Thanks - used that company on my AFM hoses, is the vacuum hose they sell reinforced some how to stop it collapsing or does the wall thickness simply do this? Sorry if I am being a dope just don't want to end up with no brakes should it not be the real deal. If you get my drift.

If in doubt, call Tim at ACT and he'll sell you the right stuff.

Think its just down to wall thickness, got it on mine and never had a problem.

If you are worried about it collapsing just buy some standard servo hose and get a larger diameter silicon hose to slide over the top.

I have a length of HGV vacuum brake hose on mine. That can definitely cope!

I bought it from a TVR supplier but I can't remember who. I'll have a look at my history tomorrow and let you know if you want.

hehehehehehe

Vacuum is vacuum, you can't get any lower than 0 PSI whether it's on a truck or a car. Ordinary vacuum hose the right size is all you need.

What are you talking about, HGVs are big so have a much bigger vacuum than a car. HGV vacuum hose is therefore much better biggrinwink

At least if it is HGV brake hose you know it actually is vacuum hose not just any old hose which will collapse.

Oh and I just looked, it was £6 from David Gerald.

Bit of a thread revival. I wasn’t expecting this. Grade of pipe is right too. Brakes now working well, so think it’s been closing up for a while. Not something I want a repeat of.

Replaced it all Mike. I prefer the skid marks on the road, not in my underpants!
