looks nice, do you mind me asking where you get the plates made up? cheers
slightly OT again..
I hear the DVLA have relaxed the spacing rules now? My wife got pulled by a bored police man for having a space in the incorrect place. Can we have a plate with no spaces?
As above, slightly confused by Garlik's post on the now closed "Spotted! Real Rubbish Chav Number Plates" thread.
i did hear they were in talks of it and believe that yesterday they did relax the rules. also did i hear hear correctly about screw fixing bolts being allowed as something to do with having to be properly secured??? happy to be corrected
It seems that the only source for these rumours was these hallowed pages themselves, I would think that the RegTransfers site would be splattered with this news when and if the rules are relaxed. My personal opinion.. spacing is a slim maybe, the screws issue, no chance. Any changes that come in will be compatible with existing ANPR systems. Personally I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.

I pasted a copy of correspondence I'd had with DfT where they had confirmed that they were running a consultation with relevant stakeholders regards spacing. It's not PH rumour, it's a fact.

Just to add to this, I've asked the DfT to confirm if this has moved on at all.

I can't lie, I have three plates which, to my mind, would all look better without spaces. I think it will take some time before they're not though of as Chav though, and I do wonder how long it will be before theres a return to adding bolts etc, which as big a temptation as it is, is best avoided IMO and generally looks gash.

Hi Pork, yeah I saw your letter and the response. I was just suggesting that the only referrence to the story this week had been on here. If the laws do come in then i'm sure your plates (and some of mine) will ruffle a few feathers when they are rightly posted in the "GOOD" thread! wink
I have some on with RT at the mo that I shall immediately and gratuitously double/triple the asking price for should the new spacing law come in! hehe

..... it seems a small bunch of people were intent to ruin it at the end and it was unmanageable. Sad.

....
I thought you handled the situation very well, it wasn't the first thread that had to be closed due to the argumentative nature of the guy in question ... and yes the thread was entertaining ... let's get part 2 up and running as soon as ... and since I can't post on the "bad" thread, I'll put mine up here ...... let's have your comments folks ... I could be the first chav to drive a DB9

So did I. Given the agressive attitude and hostility of the poster in question and his bunch of mates all kicking off too the thread was doomed. Still, it was an very revealing insight to the Chavplate mentality IMO.

Niiiice DB9 BTW. Not sure about the plate 'tho wink

Saw LIZ1 on a Range Rover earlier in Repton. No pic, as I was driving, trying to avoid schoolkids with expensive suits and no road sense...
Must be a Northern Ireland plate I assume?

I guess technically this is the wrong thread, but I thought they looked quite cool lined up.

It wasn't first issued in Glasgow but funnily enough I bought it from a businessman from Glasgow who had it on a Porsche and that was about 22 years ago.!

yes, i actually went back to edit the way I had written it, as it was confusing, cuz i wasnt sure if it would cme across the right way lol i knew it was 3's i was alluding to the fact he'd used the letter E (to match the real E) backwards to give the effect of the 3 (so it looked legal) - does that make sense lol
