That's nothing compared to some of the prices paid.

Looks like it was either shill bid or more likely people drove up the price / didn't pay as it's been relisted yet again - it's one of the links below, alongside another one that popped up when i was searching for 205 GTI bits earlier on. Fairly sure the second link is actually somebody who posts on one or two of the french / 205 forums / pages - in which case that's even worse as they're an owner themselves and still more than happy to help a cut / shut / ringer frown

£54k for a plastic replica with a Ford V6. He's even glued Ferrari badges on the rocker covers pmsl.
Surprised this is even accepted into classic events, it's just a copy no more no less.
Worth the sum of its parts, £5k tops..

There used to be a guide on this thread yonks ago on which options to select but i think eBay have changed their selections since then. eBay's reporting system is pretty poor anyway with it's generic select x, then select y, then select z, from various dropdown menus mean it's pretty pointless - if you were able to enter a limited amount of text explaining the reason, that would be sensible, but never going to happen.

I may have posted this previously on this thread, or another one, but there was a guy on one of the Ford pages who actually asked eBay UK about the issue of dodgy V5's & VIN's being sold on their platform at least a year ago (possibly 2). They received a reply along the lines of eBay being perfectly fine with it as to them it was classed as selling vehicle memorabilia to collectors - that's one way of looking at it.

As a result I've not reported one for over a year or two tbh, it's not worth it as it wont be actioned. You only need to look at the countless knock off / counterfeit items claming to be genuine (see quite a few MOMO, Sparco, OMP, etc, branded products at much lower prices than retail) listed on accounts purporting to be UK based for postage, but when you look at the business location details they're normally always in China (sometimes HK / Singapore).

Same for the numerous hacked accounts that get used to list fake cars every week but always use the same pictures every time - eBay occasionally remove a couple of the listings a few days in but still leave the others active & don't lock / close the account so naturally they all get relisted at least once every week.

It's not even a bad looking car, and I cant fault this sort of thing existing, but generally I think they look better without the badges.

Fair enough. I reported both of the above, some of it can do no harm, and I can see the reason people put cars on fake identities for reasons other than theft, if still somewhat deception, but equally there still is far to much theft of these sorts of cars sadly.

I think it looks quite nice and wouldn't mind it myself but like MR2 replicas they always seem to overdo the badges.

Another 205 GTI that's been cut up & scrapped but this seller's hazed out the end of the plate / vin to prevent Google caching / searching.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205-Gti-1-6-Logbook-And...

Yet another one who owns a 205 themselves & posts on a few Pug 205 pages, judging by a quick search of the username online, but would probably be less than happy if their own car got nicked for similar rolleyes

What I want to know in this instance, is where did the car go! Hardly like a landrover or mini/mg where thier where 100's of them.

Possibly corroded to death and used as a parts car?

A crusty Interceptor is not a simple/cheap project, and they haven't always been worth a massive amount, so a bad one might well have been scrapped a few years ago.

Popped up when i was browsing 205 related bits on Monday.

H884 MUH
VIN - VF320CB6223979693

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205-gti-logbook-an-id-t...

Been cut up & scrapped years ago evidently, but it was obviously easier to declare SORN and whip the VIN plate off before hand rather than just send the V5 back to the DVLA as scrapped rolleyes Another one that also appears to have been an occasional poster on 205drivers as well frown
