Massive amount of car for the money, worth a punt if your only doing short(ish) runs and want to do it in luxury.
For a mid/late 80's V12 though, 300bhp is not all that much when you consider a much older Jag V12 could muster 295bhp. I doubt too whether the Beemer would be all that much more fuel efficient.
Lovey big car though with very low miles for age!

The BMW can easily do 20mpg at 70...
The Jag - hmm, how about 15mpg at best...
When the 750i was new (1987?), Performance Car took one from London to John O'Groats and back, one day there, one day back, and I seem to recall they bettered 20mpg.
The E32 750i is deserving of some cult status, surely? It was the first new V12 for a long, long time; it represented a significant step up in the market for luxury cars; and it has a lovely lightness of design, a sort of filigree style, which is much missed.

I accept the Beemer should be more efficient being a newer engine, all I'm saying is, I didn't think in real world driving the "economy" of both cars will be that far removed. If it's 5 mpg more in the Beemer, then fair play, didn't think the difference would be that much! The BMW can easily do 20mpg at 70...

Beemer should be miles more reliable though.
