I had a dark grey V6 with a mkII front bumper and I loved the way the V6 behaved and how the car looked.
I did get really bored with the interior although the seats IMHO are the most comfortable I have ever had.
It was quite thirsty as well but made a lovely noise... I sold it to an Albanian stripclub bouncer in Brussels; enough said!
Looks stunning in that colour on those rims......I did get really bored with the interior although the seats IMHO are the most comfortable I have ever had.

I'm currently running a 2 litre version of this. I like the fact that there is plenty of front seat room (I'm 6'5") and room to the left of the clutch pedal to dump my foot out of the way. However back seat room is limited, and its a 2 seater in the back, not three.
Seat latch is tempermental on both sides and the electic windows are a right pain in the arse when they give up the ghost. Standard stereo isn't bad considering how old it is.
Mine is remarkably rust free, and after being standing for a month it fired up first turn of the key, fuel consumption isn't brilliant, I get around 25 pottering about locally and a bit more on a longer run. 2 litre seems heavy and underpowered, would imagine the V6 a bit more fun.

Not a bad looker, i think for similar money the Ford Cougar would be a safer punt.

I think that looks better now than when it came out! Shame they ruined the interior with the fat man seats & dash, shouldv'e left it the same as the Mondeo.http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3306032.htm
I love these - when I was looking for my first car they immediately jumped to number 1 on the list, but unfortunately an insurance quote at the time scuppered that, leaving the 306 in first. A shame, since the 406 saloon/estate was reasonable.
I'd love one now, though - a diesel would be a lovely daily, but I'm not sure I'd be able to look past the V6s to one. What sort of economy do the different options get?

I think they are one of the best looking cars you can get for under a grand.
I have the exact same car, but in the 2.0l petrol version for added economy and use it as my dialy runabout.
Its done....drumroll.......160K, and everything still works electrics wise which i am thoroughly impressed with for a french car.
Engine and gbox still going strong and drives better than alot of cars I have driven with half the miles. That said it does have full pug main dealer history so I guess that helps.
It does feel like a big car to drive, and not the quickest with the 2.0 lump but it does return a very good mpg considering its size.
The seats as in all pugs are the most comfy of any manufacturer,
and mine went straight through its MOT last month, result!

I just sold on my 2.2HDi version of this car last week.
Only had it for a year, and for all I liked the looks, and it was a pretty decent interior for the year, the HDi is just far too unreliable to be of any use.
The constant "Anti-Pollution" warnings grow very tiresome after a few months. Puegeot needed to spend another year developing it's FAP system before installing it in production cars.
