In terms of numbers - UK cars could well be seriously rare.
How Many Left suggests 40 GTs and 41 GT Coupes BUT there was a 3-door GT (one of those 2 designations) AND the later Corolla had a GT (which sucked) so we could even be in teens or single-figures!?
There are a few in Ireland plus a lot of imports..the jdm model also came in saloon/coupeHow Many Left suggests 40 GTs and 41 GT Coupes BUT there was a 3-door GT (one of those 2 designations) AND the later Corolla had a GT (which sucked) so we could even be in teens or single-figures!?
Id rather spend the £25k+ its going to cost to get a new Gt86 and get a mint AE86, or a not so mint and make it mint. Exhaust, some suspension tweeks and some more "up to date" front seats and id be well happy. No doubt id spend my weekends hitting the B-roads in a bid to play out my own Initial D fantasy

this revvy little 1.6 therefore has the quite possibly unique honour of appearing in front-rear, front-front and mid-rear configurations.
Did you see this old 'Motor' article?Corollas vs MR2

I thought that car looked familiar. Used to be owned by a mate of mine...
Blimey, IMO it looks a lot better today. No offence to the previous owner. s m said:
Great link, thanks for that. I hadn't actually seen it before either. Great cars - I used to spanner for a guy who rallied one - he won his class on the 89 RAC on the last chance before the homologation expired. They used to be the car of choice for a few rally-schools but given how thin the metalwork was, I'm surprised any still survive. I remember on the RAC sitting in the boot holding aeroquipped fuel lines clear of the heat as the axle mountings were welded back on under the car!!!

The AE86 GT was a fwd 3-door in the UK ( I'm fairly sure we didn't get the 2 door one here ). The later Corolla ( AE92 ) was badged as GT-i in the UK so won't be included in those figuresHow Many Left suggests 40 GTs and 41 GT Coupes BUT there was a 3-door GT (one of those 2 designations) AND the later Corolla had a GT (which sucked) so we could even be in teens or single-figures!?

2000rpm when cold. That will be the Waxstatic Idle control valve. did you say it hunted when it was warmed up about 4-500rpm? thats a goog indication it needs changing out MK1 Mr2s where the same.
Only thing its missing is the 80s tastic Digi Dash they came with on some of the imports
