With all the mods made I would have thought IVA is required. If so the wheel spinners will have to go.

I like it. I know i shoulden't, and saying I do makes me feel I should go and buy a pipe and a flat cap, but I do. The wheels, however, suit iot, but personaly I would have gone for some sort of multi spoke alloy. Something that evokes the feel of an old spoke wheel, but looks up to date. I am sure many would argue otherwise, but thats me.

no-one mentioned the price yet- it said in Octane £49K!!!!

Whilst it might be well engineered I can think of a lot more cars I would rather have for the money

Not sure who this is aimed at either as i would imagine most purists would not want an MX-5 engine

Love the concept and the wheels and can see why it would have to be expensive but for me, I would prefer to throw the same amount at a restored Alfa Giulia 105 Coupe. cloud9

I think I may skip this should I suddenly find £50k down the back of the sofa, and have one of these instead.

I think the car looks stunning. With modern power and gearbox it will be a lovely thing to own and drive. I wonder what it will sound like?

They're similar to MGA Twin Cam wheels.

Ive always liked the idea of taking a classic and putting a modern engine in it. Mgb / hillman avenger with a S2000 or other screaming high reving engine would be awesome.

Not anywhere near as good as this I wager:

£20K less to boot.

An MGB with Mazda mechanicals and modern suspension will probably be much easier to drive but I'd rather have the character of a big six on webers and a freeflow exhaust any day, regardless of the fuel consumption! Perhaps one with an E46 M3 straight six would work for me, but not an MX-5 engine.

Ow. For £50k I'd want at least a 425hp V8 not an MX5 engine.

Like that. Even the wheels look right.

Cant help but think a nice straight 6 or V8 might have been better, but I guess the Mx5 engine is light.
What like an MGC or an MGB GT V8?

Makes a decent choice of propulsion I'd have thought, I await the roadtest with interest bit pricey though! As for the ridiculous notion of putting Jag V12s and their ilk in an MGB! Do me a favour. Might be interesting in a "heh let's see what this is like" kind of way but you wouldn't want to hoon one round the back lanes which is kind of the point of a "sports car" IMHO.
