Not the regular leather though is it? Nappa?
Nope, regular. The 2002MY onwards cars did have marginally different stitching IIRC.
Good knowledge. Leather looks slightly higher quality too, but that could just be me.
I've never seen it before.

Wheels look fake too.

Not sure about that tyres but other than that looks lovely - I wonder if he fancies a swap with my low mileage e36 coupe?

I would prefer the Oxford Green mit Creme spanish example for the same money (albeit more miles) a few pages back.

What engine does the white one have? M20 or the 24v?
Should be the 24v - that was introduced in late 1990 (presumably for the 1991 model year) so being 1992 you'd hope it hadn't been sitting around for a couple of years.

ad states 192bhp which would be the M50, if the ad is correct, that is.

would much rather a manual 525i personally.

The info in the ad is auto-populated based on the registration date - since it's a 1992 car it'll obviously automatically add the spec of the 1992 car. So don't rely on that info in PH adverts.... (It's also possible to amend it by hand anyway).

I know nothing about these but looks value if it's been looked after as well as is advertised.

if i didn't have the E38 i'd be looking at that; looks very tidy for mileage, especially the interior!!

An aero would only be a little more. If you're going to buy a 9-5 you might as well buy the quick one at these prices.

The blue interior looks awful. I can't recall a blue interior I liked outside of the Mondeo ST200 and the Racing Puma.

It'd be the family wagon for the missus so not that fussed. Softer suspension? 2.3t can still be tweaked cheaply if dog slow.

It's oop north so probably too far anyway.

Fair points. If you're looking for a huge family wagon it's hard to ignore the value in Saabs at the moment.

Looks a shed load of car for sub £1750 to. Me, nice miles and tad more economical than an aero even the brown metallic kinda suits it

Re the lovely S500 featured recently, how do those old W140's drive? Comparable to a Lexus of the same vintage in terms of refinement etc.? What sort of 'economy' could I expect? I would be tempted to gas it, to make it semi-practical....

I get an average of around 20mpg, mostly doing the same 16 mile journey each day. The route involves a mix of NSL and 30/40mph roads with very little sitting in traffic.

On longer motorway runs 25mpg is possible. Around town I imagine somewhat worse but not really something I have done a lot of.

As I understand it the Lexus is silent in all situations where as the Merc's V8 makes itself heard when you put your foot down (in a good way) but is silent in all other circumstances. Someone who has driven both would be better placed to comment.

I'm definately convinced it's worth the money, what with the highly detailed advert and plenty of pictures.

Has been for sale for several weeks now, started at £1995 and gradually coming down. The blue interior would really put me off, as would the white exterior if I was being picky. Pity.

My LS could be heard if you put your foot down.
