Clearly they have dropped a zero off the mileage.
Look at the seats for goodness sakes. There is no way that is a 100k mile car.
Dont't agree at all. They can look like that at 20k or 200k. It has still done 106k and is 11 years old so isn't exactly low mileage or new - it will have some wear.Look at the seats for goodness sakes. There is no way that is a 100k mile car.

Signums. Any good? Perfect for carrying donor organs I suppose.

agree. whilst they certainly look tattier than my seats which are coming up to 120k now they have likely been driven by someone who either weighs a little more than most OR someone who basically jumps in the car. that can cause lots of bolster wear. when i get in/out i always try to be reasonably careful. i suspect a good clean etc would get them looking a bit tidier.
Funnily enough it often isn't caused by people who weigh a bit but on a lot of cars is caused by people short in the leg who have the seat positioned a long way forward meaning they have to push hard against the bolster when entering/exiting the car.Gah - more bork to report. Front shock collapsed (much like my rear did) and broke the front spring - which gouged the sidewall of my nearly new tyre to shreds
Back to Stu next week for a new pair of front shocks and springs
I realise once its fixed, its fixed, but the mrs has lost faith in it with baby on the way. So... even though it'll be running on new suspension all round I'll be moving it on for something more expensive in the next couple of months.
Absolutely love that 540i6 posted above - beautiful car.

Barge Update.
Took the LS400 in for it's MOT today , it's second MOT under my ownership. Rather predictably passed first time , no advisories. Total spend this year 1 rear brake light bulb.
Mine failed on seized parking brake cable (not used much). So that and one number plate light for me this year Took the LS400 in for it's MOT today , it's second MOT under my ownership. Rather predictably passed first time , no advisories. Total spend this year 1 rear brake light bulb.

sorry to hear that. you had great luck for a while then seemed to go down hill a bit i'm hoping mine doesn't turn out to be a similar story
best of luck with the new car, when you looking at selling yours?

Probably a bit slow for ferrying organs about! That fridge is massive though, probably wasn't cheap on the spec list either. Not that I would go wild for it, it's a modern Vauxhall, built by Vauxhall and I'd tend to try and avoid that.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

It's not much further.

Cheers Ross. I've done 18k in it now in about 8 months or so some bork is to be expected. I reckon a month or two then it'll be up for sale.
18k in 8 months kudos to you for sticking with a 6 pot petrol barge and not following the trend. big miles on the motorway is just what the E38 was built for. made me laugh the other day i saw a post by marquis rex calling it the weenie mobile....rubbish!E38Ross said:

being replaced with the later steel ones, as that's a £2K timebomb otherwise.
What's the thoughts on this 328? I think it's a little overpriced myself but
it does look good in that colour and it seems to have a couple of sensible mods...
