The 599 is going to be a tricky act to follow IMO, such a lovely car.

Is 710bhp not a little bit excessive for a GT car? By all means in a sports/supercar, just seems a bit unnecessary in a GT car. Can't see it being a looker either if it's taking styling hints from the FF.
The front-engine-RWD model in the Ferrari range isn't supposed to be a GT, it's supposed to be a supercar. As opposed to the 458, which is supposed to be a (super-)sportscar.

The FF is the 'GT' model (or maybe the California).
I see it as a sports GT rather than a supercar, sort of DBS-esque but more sporty, less GT.

Bye-bye 599: Maranello's new flagship GT is called the F620 - and it should pack quite a punch

Looks like the front will be similar to the FF.

why do people get so excited about artist's impressions and renderings - they really are meaningless. I could draw you a picture of Cheryl Cole in the nod, but it probably isn't going to be that accurate

10 hp more than Aventador. There's a surprise, and to deploy this prodigious power we have a front engined rear wheel drive layout. Why bother?

is 4WD against Ferrari's principles or have they ever made a car that has it?

Amazing to see how the 599 has been around for 6 years, doesn't look dated in any way and is probably still the best GT you can buy.

I wonder if the rear quad exhausts will be fake as per the California?

I take it there will be no 'proper' manual gearbox option, then? You can count me out on that reason alone...

In what respect?

It is probably the fastest, and maybe even the best handling, but I think something like a Conti GT would be better at grand touring.

Anyone know how they've arrived at the number? I thought they still had some (tenuous) link to the engine in the name? Though having said that I can't remember what it was for the 599 either.
From Wiki:
"V12 models used the displacement (in cubic centimetres) of one cylinder. Therefore, the famed 365 Daytona had a 4390 cc V12. However, some newer V12-engined Ferraris, such as the 599, have three-number designations that refer only to total engine displacement."

I suppose 620 is nearly 6.3l. Wiki has the FF engine at 6262cc.

620 - 6.3L? so it's really a 2550cc?

Is this correct?

F70/Enzo - Flagship V12 Supercar
F599/620 - Hardcore GT V12
FF - 4 Seat luxury GT V12
F458 - V8 Supercar
Cali - V8 luxury GT

710hp! Ferrari has been gradually edging up on Lamborghini in the power stakes and now they passed them out. I thought the Aventador should have had 730bhp+ and it now may well be outpaced by the more practical 599 replacement. The Enzo replacement is going to be mega at this rate.
