I love the new 6 coupe ad I love this. Would it get my hard earned pounds?

That is a very difficult question to answer.

Looks much better than the M5, inside and out. Much less fussy.

Does this come with the fake engine noise system?

Certainly looks better than the old M6. It's just a shame that the V10 had to go (that noise cloud9).

It will depreciate like a bd though. I'd probably go for the M5 if it was my money, and have near identical performance and a more practical car for a chunk less money.
They made the mistake with pricing on the last M6, and are doing the same again and so will depreciate faster than the M5.

They should price it at the same level as the M5 - it's an alternative, not a far superior car.

Isn't it just a difference in price carried up from the rest of the 6/5-series ranges?

How can you call it a mistake when they've sold more than they hoped for?

[quote=the_g_ster]I like it, but is this not a 3 series that's been inflated a bit with a big engine dumped in.

Not at all. The 6 is more like the 5 but is in most respects a stand alone model that shares some mechanical components.

It's vastly bigger than a 3.

Who cares about the extra 1/3 fuel economy as you drive from the show room you've lost 10k, and continue to do so every year for the next several year? But hey, that extra £30 saving at the pumps really made a difference laugh

Good news about the decent brakes - as someone has said above, it is about time and befits a car of this price/performance.

But gold calipers...?! I know Merc already use red/orange and Ferrari/Maserati/Porsche have got red/yellow, but surely they could've found a less blingy colour than gold?!

It is, but to make the M6 attractive and sell in reasonable quantities, it needs to be priced to provide incentive to the customer.

That brings out my inner Ike Turner......I'd hit that all night long.

Gorgeous looking thing. The standard coupes look superb, anyway, so this would have terrific road presence.

I doubt they're overly concerned about whether people buy the M5 or the M6 as long as they buy one or the other - I suspect the profit margins are fairly similar? I guess the question is whether the price of the M6 relative to the M5 will cause people to go and buy another manufacturer's car.

How many did they sell? Don't see many around

And so many were discounted so heavily. And that's the mistake, price it sensibly, and better chances of retaining sensible residuals and keeping your customers happier IMO.

I never really got on with the looks of the E63, but this is great. It's a lot of money though.
