The title of the thread is set by the first poster and the defaults vary depending on the forum skin they've chosen and the platform they're posting from AFAIKNothing to worry about, just never seen it before on anybody else.
This is why some threads are 'title-less' for a while - until someone posts who's using a version of the site which sets one!!
Wrong country to be driving this car in and on the wrong roads from what I can see.
As for wasting money this costs chump change to some people. I'm sure they'll live with the M5 over a 520D.
If we're going to get into a criticism of the M division they haven't made a proper 'M' car since the E46 M3CSL IMO.

I found the article interesting, but I question the motives of the article. It smack a little of one of my tactics. When the missus makes something new for dinner, that I really like, I don't tell her it's really nice. I tell her I like it, but maybe there is something missing from it. She then practices to try and get it right, and I get to eat it lots more times.
I think Dan loves the car in secret, but will need a trip to Scotland in the Spring, then the Italian Lakes in the Summer, then Cornwall in Autumn, then skiing in the Alps in Winter etc etc etc until he finally "likes" it officially.
Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree though...

Steady on! A lot of the modern supercars play with their exhaust sound using valves, filters and materials. Some even have an exhaust button! nuff said
Car manufactures realised that people love a decent exhaust note.

Fake Noise + Flappy st gearbox + Massive Size = Fail
fake noise i'll grant you, it's a stupid ideast gearbox? EVERY review has said it's the joint best DCT gearbox out there, so it's clearly not st. i think the flappy paddle box suits the idealogy of an M5 - lazy cruiser when you want it to be, but still in control of the gears when you want to be.
massive size? since when has an M5 been small in comparison to other models? it's always been about the weight of the lightest 7 series of the time, right back to the original M5.
