Dodgy dash and steering wheel.
That bit just behind the front wheels looks a bit unresolved
Looks lovely - although justifying that price might be hard. Eagle E Type looks cheap in comparison.

Mostly though - WHY would you have an auto in this type of car? It's a (very) rich man's plaything. For sunny days on clear roads. It just looks *wrong* in the interior, even as a modern re-interpretation (and yes I know there were plenty of E Type autos, but they're not the ones most dream about).

I always think it's a bit of a cheeky business model. "Yes sir, hand over your substantial deposit and we'll get right on with buying all the bits we need and hiring some chaps to actually build you one"

Overall, a very lovely shape. But as with so many things, the devil is in the detail. The name is appalling, I'd have it deleted from everywhere and call it whatever I wanted. Dash in brushed aluminium, and the area behind the front wheels needs reworking, it looks very messy and unnecessary.

Other than that, it looks fab.

The headlights need to be a BIT bigger (so they don't look like they're squinting) and you have a thing of glory there.

Renders tho - the real thing may not be as pretty as it doesn't look, to me, like they've working out the actual MAKING of it, just rendered the sketches??

because they have been seriously burned by accusations of being too retro for too long e.g. old XJ, and doing it quite badly e.g. S-type. I think they want to decidedly 'move forward'.

I thought the same, that Jag had really missed a trick that they had not come up with something like this during the last twenty years, then soon realised that they would be slated if they had. Had the X-type and S-type not been made many many people would have looked at the concepts and thought why on earth didn't they make them... of course they did and everyone was underwhelmed. I notice the XJS gets slated in some parts too as a huge disappointment when it came out....not according to a certain gentleman's magazine that I was reading a review in from 1976, it was the E type that was seen as old fashioned....

I will upset quite a few with this post, also declare an interest as long term jaguar owner of various cars.
Clearly the designers do not have sufficient imagination to create their own design format but need to crib a 50 year old design.
The name crib is an insult to the late m.d. of Jaguar Cars (pre Ford/Tata etc)
The front and rear aspects of car are not in balance and the slots in wings (cooling or fashion) do nothing to enhance the car design.
The interior design elements are part copied from the series 1 3.8, ie aluminium which reflects the sun very badly.
Dont like faked wire wheels, either do the job properly or get into the wheel specialists for advice.
Price is ludicrous, and I doubt it will ever be made, however that maybe wrong and some lottery winners or russians etc may have to have one.
Just my opinion, I am old and have owned and driven lots of fine cars, but thankfully this would never be one of them.
Retires to bed with horlicks now, wearing crash helmet and flameproof suit.

With all that money... I'd want a proper manual transmission tbh.. perhaps thats just me but if you're gonna do a retro tribute to a motoring icon, it cant have flappy paddles

This harks back to the good old days when you used to be able to buy a chassis from your favourite company (Ferrari, Maserati, Jag etc) then get a coach builder to build you a custom body. Even back in the 40's, 50's and 60's this was an expensive undertaking that only a few could afford. So if the engineering is right and they are talking about a handmade Ali body then I think the pricing is about right.

I think I would be happy to put down a deposit if I had the money and an example was available to see and drive.

Here is another example of a car done on a similar theme built recently by one of my favourite Hotrodder’s Steve Moal for a well healed customer. Based around a mid 60's Ferrari V12 attached to a modern six speed box and custom running gear, I think it is stunning:

If I were lucky enough to be buying a tweaked e type then I know where my money would go! This ones sold and god knows for how much but I'm sure £400k would buy a very nice racer.

Agree with others though that:

Side vents awful and unnecessary
One too many logos and badges on the nose/grill
Headlamps just not sympathetic to the rest of the design ... too sharped edged ... need to be more rounded
The name is just so ... well .... kitsch ..... needs to be something better and more straightforward

Absolutely nothing wrong with the wheels ...... remind me of Borrani wires ..... bloody gorgeous!

Still wouldn't say no as it is though!
