Land Rover are marketing this as the 'first premium off-roader convertible'.

Its not, in 1981 they permitted a small luxury specialist company to make this,
Behold, the Rapport Starlight:

Hey hey hey, I've got a really new original concept:

Not sure there was any permission involved, they were one of many companies butchering Range Rovers for Arabs at the time.

As far as "approved" conversions for passenger cars go I can only think of a few four-doors (FLM and Panther, the Monteverdi actually being available via dealers) and the Schuler automatic.

Separate chassis, but the line of the sill is curved (supposedly to represent the hull of a boat).

Yes, it'll sell which is fineif you like them or want one.

It is hideous though, and goes against the grain of what pure PHers should want. The thing looks huge and those inside it just look daft to me (so small) ...

Costs a fortune as well - waste of money to me. Wag's dream, as someone said.

I think landrover need cars like this, keep the models ticking over keep competitive in as many markets as possible, yes it is moving away from the core values of the brand but so what we all know companies have to change and adapt in order to survive in any market let alone the current one.

Would love to put some all terrain tyres on it take it to a pay and play site and show up some much more hardcore stuff haha would be priceless.

It looks like an A3 cabrio that ate too many pies. It'll do very well.
