Think a few sports cars have been doing that for a while. My old EP3 Type R would only hit 60 in third gear.
The Hondata kpro ecu upgrade sorts that, increase the rev limit by 500rpm and you can get 60 in second. Not relevant I know but you never know when the info may come in use to someone JREwing said:

The reasoning is that someone has to buy cars new. When you're buying new cars, you have to compare them with other new cars - second hand ones will represent better value. The person that bought the Boxster brand new, could have bought a second hand Ferrari.
The person that bought the Ferrari brand new, could have bought a second hand V12 Lambo.
The person that bought the Lambo brand new, could have bought a second hand Zonda.
You get the point?
AutoCar have benchmarked it against the MX-5 and 370Z:

Neither the 370Z nor the MX-5 can thrill at that level. Compared to Subaru, they look like blunt, dull communicators here, outclassed by a new affordable driver’s car of amazing delicacy and extraordinary talent. One that could be the best sports car to come out of Japan since the Honda NSX, and that must be worth £25k from anyone who knows what sunny weekends and great roads were really made for.
http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/...Certainly a fantastic write up from Autocar.
Really need to try one out before committing my £1000 the dealer has now requested as I'm quite excited about everything about the car with the exception of the engine sound and the way it looks like you have to rev the knackers off it to make it move at a decent pace, which is a driving style I'm not keen on - unfortunately I feel old for thinking like that though.

The Subaru needs to be wound to at least 5000rpm before the car will lunge onward like a fully-fledged performance car. Below that, you could even be overtaken by a mid-range Peugeot 205.
The power itself is fine but the torque and it's delivery worry me slightly.Edited by PGM on Friday 13th April 16:06

I'm not going to keep going on because I know there are better cars out there than the 370z that I own, but what the fk was the bloke at autocar smoking when he hinted the 370 has a lack of grip?autocar said:

http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/...It grips like buggery. As a journalist has he not seen other publications skid pan tests, slalom results blah blah blah. The fact it's not on skinny Prius tyres etc etc. It grips fantastic and anyone bothered to check results can see that.
I can tell you right now it grips just as well as my S2000 did if not slightly better.
It's comments like that and the keeping it behind you comment that make me think there is a bit of bias involved in the review because he's excited about the concept.
