I believe that over the past 80 years, certain birds around the Nürburgring have developed the skills to mimic the noises of their environment. They do this to startle and confuse their ground-based predators. Here we simply have a perfect example of a Lesser Spotted Wastegate.

There was an article a month or two back of a v8 vantage where a company had put on a watercooled supercharger.

Stop-Start makes PERFECT sense when you take even a cursory glance at the NEDC.

Anyobdy who does complain about stop-start, other than the delay some (poorly developed) cars give is obviously a nonce anyway.

GroundEffect - which team do you work with in Ford PD? I was there for 3 years until about August of '11. Curious to see if I know you.

No, it's just a bird whistling in the trees.

Seriously though, no.

If I get my tackle removed and live my life as a woman, will I still be "our man at the 'ring"?

No, but some people in The Lounge would want to take you out for dinner.

I say no turbo.

Sounds more like tyre roar audible when the car is off throttle.

I also think it's a V12.
I'm on my second Vantage and I have to agree
It sounds like a V8 with the sports exhaust to me.

It's been discussed elsewhere but I don't think either the V8, nor the V12 as they stand are suitable for factory turbo or supercharging (ie, it's doable, obviously but to get it through regs and on the road reliably is another thing entirely).

I didn't hear a turbo whistle in that clip - it's too short and muffled.
Disagree - the V8 is based on the Jag 4.2 that had a blower in the XKR
There are also 4 aftermarket blower kits for the V8V in 4.3 form.
Nothing for the V12 as yet wink

AFAIK the GMR based kit is no longer available.
It has two big issues, water injection for charge cooling with a finite tank volume, poor integration in to the AM ECU.

I'm looking at putting this on mine now Dr Bez has stiffed us on the V12V roadster frown

Anyway, I disagree. This is what tyres sound like, and it's off power at that point. Note that as it goes by the usual exhaust sound is not muffled or changed at all either.

I met some chap on a ferry back from Denmark last week who worked on water injected, supercharger kits. I thought he was from GMR. If he was, they're certainly still working on them as he was driving the Aston that was going to become their European demonstrator!

Sounds like "induction slurp" rather than turbo whistle to me, surely if AM go with Turbo they'll be big and multiple ones and you'll be in no-doubt when you hear it.

(FWIW I think a turbo straight 6, supercharged 8 and NA 12 would make a good range for AM GT's)
