If the Green's get their way it will be a 1.4 supercharged and turbocharged, engine cutting out at the lights affair frown
If it sounds like the car in that video delivers 400+hp I'm in...

Really don't get the objection to technological progress providing it complements the enjoyment you get from a car rather than hinders it. If my 5-litre V8 TVR did 40mpg not 14mpg (in between waking up the neighbours and splitting flames on overrun) I might actually be able to use it a bit more...

I hope its supercharged! Always thought that a Supercharged V8 would be a better engine than the V12
It's possible to upgrade - the Vantage GMR 600. My colleague's V8 was used as the development car:

AFAIK the GMR based kit is no longer available.
It has two big issues, water injection for charge cooling with a finite tank volume, poor integration in to the AM ECU.
I met some chap on a ferry back from Denmark last week who worked on water injected, supercharger kits. I thought he was from GMR. If he was, they're certainly still working on them as he was driving the Aston that was going to become their European demonstrator!
That kit has been around for 3 years!
Paramount were working with GMR in 2009 and could never quite get it right.
AFAIK there are only a handful of mules and the odd customer car with the GMR kit on.
They tried a relaunch in Dec but nothing has been heard or seen of it since.
Most SC kits are heat exchanger intercooled rather than water injected for good reasons.

I can't hear anything apart from a car going fast round a bend? I was expecting Subaru style waste gate noises...

My hearing isn't what it was though...

If Aston were to use straight sixes in the future for economy reasons, it would hardly be the first time. Perfectly sensible layout for a british GT that. Stick a couple of turbos on it ala BMW N54 and it sounds like just the job to me.

As for the video - sounds like a V8 to me too, but I can't hear anything to convince me thats a turbo one way or the other.

Doesn't sound remotely like a V12. That's a V8 for certain, and there's nothing that makes it sound like it has a turbo. It could have a supercharger, but you couldn't tell since the new gen Eaton TVS units are very quiet as used on the Jag XKR-S and the ZR1.

Sounds like "induction slurp" rather than turbo whistle to me, surely if AM go with Turbo they'll be big and multiple ones and you'll be in no-doubt when you hear it.

(FWIW I think a turbo straight 6, supercharged 8 and NA 12 would make a good range for AM GT's)
I really agree that a straight six would be interesting, maybe a smaller Aston at a lower price point with a 2.5/3.0 6 with a turbo, would be a damn sight better way of reducing overall company green credentials than that cygnet monstrosity

Defo a v8. Not sure on the turbo, but it does sound whooshy like a gtr or 911t once it's headed past.

V8 yes

turbo? hard to tell. There is a little turbo like chirp, but it could be something else.

I say no turbo.

Sounds more like tyre roar audible when the car is off throttle.

I also think it's a V12.
As above. Sounds very much like a V12 to these ears.
