So what's your range for the petrol apocalypse?
Discussion
Two full cars, 40 gals in the garage. One car = 4.0 litre six cylinder moster weighing over 2 tonnes, so maybe 250 miles.
Other car, 1.8 turbo, if I'm careful 400 miles. Re-fill from cans in garage = 250 miles.
So 900 miles.
Plus unlimited, if slow miles, on either of my two pushbikes, up to maybe 30 or 40 miles a day at my current fitness levels?
Plus maybe a range of 10 miles maximum a day on a pair of trainers
Oh wait, I've also got an electric scooter in the garage which I used to use around the paddock at race tracks - does 5 miles on one charge, so that's another bit of extra mileage, right??!!

My VXR8 has only got a 1/4 of a tank and nobody near me has any Vpower ( I try and run exclusively on it) and this weekend I have a trip from home (Southampton) to Salisbury for a dyno session at Janspeed and of course Sunday Service.
Thank Jehovah that I run on LPG!! Plenty of that around.

Is this a commercial garage or a private garage?

That car looks like a diesel to me....and not a BMW.

Don't be sorry...how sad of the other guy to check your garage and even know that the dash on the pic did not match...he is trolling....and a pedant.

At the moment, 295 miles left, last filled it on Wednesday to make sure I had enough for a 150-mile round trip. Glad I did because there was a diversion, had I not filled I would have been very low on the way back.
If I could brim it: (old picture)
I reckon 700 is achievable on a long motorway haul, but I've never had the need.

Assuming all vehicles full prior to apocalypse but no jerry cans etc I make it a maximum range of 1800, very roughly though because those are maximum ranges for all.
In reality, they're not and two of the bikes aren't even road legal (although are I think full). Computer says I've got about 300 left in the mondeo, about 250 in the 6 and could get probably 400-500 from the bikes with the contents of their tanks and what is left in various others plus the lawn mower and genny.
So about 550 by car(s) and an extra 400-500 by bike(s) although could extend that by putting all the fuel in the most economic bike (which will do about 60mpg).

Assuming all three cars full 40L each, total 120L (27 Gallons) then about 3000 miles if I use a bit more manual electrical assist.
Doing 110mpg at the moment
Assuming only Commuting and no day trips.
Wife does 10 miles a day 5 days a week.
I do 26 miles a day 16 days a month.
Call it 150 miles a week. So 20 weeks.
