Has anyone seen the Lotus Elise on FaceBook, that has been extended and widened? I've been looking for more details to post here but without much luck.
Which one? A number of people (including Lotus themselves, in fact) have done this, usually combined with switching to a larger, longitudinal engine.
I didn't realise tbh, so no idea. It was white though I think? laugh

The BMW V10 one is owned by a PHer (and is an Exige, which might explain the difficulty finding it).

It's black, though, or it was last year: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

This! I don't mind a bit of patina on a suitable old car but putting a rust wrap on plastic or carbon looks daft.

Just needs excessive camber and some tyre stretch to finish it off.

Nor do I, but as that look goes that's a pretty good execution of it.

Lotus Elise '97 lightweight with Audi 1.8 turbo conversion, 6 speed gearbox, S1 Exige Rimstock alloys, Nitron suspension, AP two-piece discs with Pagid RS4-2 pads, Safety Devices A-Frame (petty bar in garage), custom Eltech-Italia V1R carbon seats (one missing in photo!) with Luke Pro harnesses, OMP Superquadro snap off steering wheel, 4 fin flush fit diffuser and some other bits of aluminium and carbon ... smile

270BHP, 270lbs/ft and around 730-740 kilos. Torque curve is surprisingly flat too, with plenty of torque at 2000rpm! [url][url]

Velcro, but it fell off over the winter! tongue out I'll be sticking it back on before the next drive out. It mounts below the gaping hole in the front, which directs air through the radiator ...

My guess, it was a Hennessey Venom GT, posted a top speed of 265.57 at Calafornia's Naval Air station. In the last season of Extra Gear there was a feature on the car.

Yours for around $600,000
