I love that there are still 22 year olds who do things like that Mini... but there's some fairly fundamental design decisions which seem a bit daft given the amount of effort which has clearly gone into it. Like leaving the engine in (for a fairly generous use of the word "in") the front.

It has one but just not in that picture.

It's gone a little too far for my taste. He can't get the power down and it bottoms out a lot so I think a 250bhp version with suspension set up better would leave it for dead down a decent road. Credit where it's due on his skill though.

I don’t personally contribute to the thread, nor would I slate someone else’s car modification choices.

Yes, we get a couple of Blue Oval representative stands, but where else would you find a turbo Lexus V8-powered Mk3 Transit van, a bike-engined Bedford Rascal, and the Skoda Favorit Owners Club all on the same showfield.

Not as such. I'm about ready to fit a fresh 2 litre Nord and have some pics from along the way so once it's in and running I'll start a thread up. It's very modified hence me posting a picture as it's a GTA type homage I suppose.
My first Alfa and it lived up to expectation as the engine died for reasons yet unclear but we are finally getting close fingers crossed.

My only suggestions to you as organisers is a bit more variety in the hill climb allocation, ie more cars and less runs? I expected a lot more to go up the hill but the paddock seemed to just be repeat runs of the same cars till we left around 3pm. I appreciate it might not be practical tho.
It was great to see such a variety of modified classics as well as stock. Don't change the event too much and the pricing and food costs are perfect. (ie don't let it turn into a mini rip off Goodwood revival lol)

I see from the other posts the definition of decently modified is obviously up for interpretation, that’s fair enough-we all have our own opinions.

As for the MX5, in standard guise I think it’s a nearly there type of car on the looks, the one pictured (simply copied from a readers cars thread) IMHO builds on the standard to get it sitting beautifully and being overall, better looking than it did as it came out of the factory.

I can appreciate other more modified cars that have been “slammed”, have tyrewall stretch or even given a rat look, however for me, those are all a little try too hard.

The MX5 has been subtly modified and looks all the better for it.

In my humble opinion

When my Focus RS arrived the first thing I noticed was the wheel gap and the fact that the (standard - not forged) wheels in black didn't fill the wheel arches properly. Lowering springs and spacers went on that as well and to my eyes made it look much better:-
