I'm torn over that DS... I love them, and the idea of a big engine in it appeals, but those wheels just ruin it for me...

There is also quite a long video about it here.

Medusa comes to mind. When seeing those exhaust headers. smile

The video is worthwhile, not least for footage of the suspension elements, underneath. One also learns that the builder is obviously quite talented as well as resourceful -- given the threadbare environment where he produced this.

I understand the holistic blend of design and engineering on this car. At the same time, however, I'm not much of a "stance" guy. I'd want to ask about wheels that are less extreme in alignment. Just my two cents.

This had me going straight to the classifieds and Ebay. Beautiful build. Love it.
Thanks. If you want to see more, we'll be posting the 4th video episode on part of of the build later today or tomorrow:

Um that looks a massive can of worms all be it (dashboard/door cards aside) well built.

From what a gather someone took a Honda S2000, removed all the body panels & added mk2 Escort body. The DVLA list B19 LBS as a White Ford Escort registered in 2002 so what on earth is it, does this mean it HAS been IVA/SVA whichever is most appropriate?

If H. R Giger designed and engine bay.

I love it!
Thats fking awesome!
It's modern art. It's kinetic art in the unexpected.

This could have ended up as one of countless almost anonymous builds. But, no.
This is insane and that manifold is a work of art.

Glorious. Absolutely stunning in every way. I'd have that over any super car.

As soon as I saw the "B" reg I had several similar questions! I'm guessing it's made to look like a Mk2 over the top of something else, as the inner wings are all wrong too.

A friend of mine did as S2000 conversion on an RS2, it was bluddy lovely.

absolutely, no question. A jackpot win wouldn't see me anywhere near prancing horses or bulls - something similar to this would be #1

I think the DS is one car that is ripe for an electric conversion.
  1. They are all about wafting
  2. It is not a great engine in the original car
  3. It looked futuristic at the time (and still does to a certain extent)
  4. There are lots of them

I think it and a Rover are done like that in the film Gattaca....

If I were to have one car (made reliable, restored and all that), I'd have a DS in a heartbeat. If it was electric (and I could charge it easily), I'd definetly have one.

I'd argue this above - I'd have a DS over almost any supercar. That said, if you were to offer me a choice over a DS or a Delta Integrale, I think my head might explode hehe

It's a fairly common swap on old V12 Jags in the US, the parts are hard to get and usually silly money so the easy option is to drop in a small block of some sort.
