You know I will probably get lynched for this, but these restomods are leaving me a bit cold now. They are literally everywhere, on every car show. They are having to go further and further to make an impression (such as some of Dave Kingdigs work). I'm a massive fan of the less is more school (look at my modified Sagaris for example), but I'm seeing market saturation on this now.

I agree. Totally original or very mildly modded is more special than these things now.

Im with you. Id rather see nice twists on original stuff. In 2015 i had a ta22 celica, and instead of engine swapping for a jap 2.0turbo, I built up a original to the car 2t engine ,using modern components and machining, electric dizzy and modern carbs. It made 130 bhp at the rear wheels. Sadly it got stolen, just after completion, but the point is, You want a classic to ACTUALLY be a classic,(but be a fun drive) not a new car with an old shell.

Nah, you guys are all wrong.

I would give my left nut for this. Probably the right one too.

I really think the Barra should be right up there as one of the top engines.

You may well do, but it would need to be on 17inch wheels at most to be perfect for me, and with some dish to them as well rotate

I think we've had these before on some thread ... IIRC they were used to distribute mail in France.

Wow - Aussie engine being put in a Volvo in the US?

But in any case, awesome car!

That Volvo is cool, just had to Google the significance of a "Barra" engine, also pretty cool.

Not too sure if it was him, he’s owned it for around 3 years. I’ve got some other pictures he’s sent me I’ll try dig out...
